The much-awaited launch of the year from Yamaha Motor India has happened, the faired version of the naked streetfighter Yamaha FZ has hit the Indian dealerships at the price tag of INR 1,29,335 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Apart from the full fairing, the all-new Yamaha Fazer 250 is embellished with all the other aesthetics aspects borrowed from its naked sibling. While, mechanically, the bike is powered by the same 249 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with oil cooling of the FZ. The motor in question is rated to pump out the peak power of 20bhp along with 20Nm twisting force with the mated a 5-speed gearbox.
Along with the highlighted features such as the step up split seat, peeking engine unit, stubby exhaust, rear wide tyre, disc brake and more, the Yamaha Fazer 250 also gets all digital instrument cluster, telescopic front forks, rear mono shock and dual disc brake setup as well. The motorcycle misses out at the advance safety of ABS like its naked brother, but at the launch, Yamaha India promises to update all its models with ABS by 2019.
Other cycle parts include telescopic front fork along with mono cross rear shock as the suspension setup and a 282mm front disc and 220mm rear disc, for braking. At the aggressive price sticker of 1.23 lakh (ex-Delhi), the bike will compete with the players such as the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, the Honda CBR250R, and the KTM RC 200, in the segment.
