Yamaha MT-03 or Naked R3 is going to join siblings soon in the Indian lineup as cleared from a recently surfaced report in the automotive industry. The naked street fighter has been delayed to appeal Indian masses as its December 2018 scheduled launch was postponed to this year. Well, there are no official announcements from the automaker that when it will make its way to dealerships. Albeit, according to some of the dealers, new MT-03 is set for launch sometime by mid-2019.
The segment wherein 2019 Yamaha MT-03 falls is already conquered by the single cylinder lightweight motorcycles. Hence, we will see it fighting with BMW G310R and Benelli TNT 300 in its price range.

Latest MT-03 or the naked R3 one can call any name as it is the ripped version of the R3 with a host of alterations in the equipped attributes. Eg. the headlight which is now a single unit and a relaxed bar type handlebar for increased manoeuvrability on streets and in traffic conditions. The dual-channel ABS will the major highlight and advanced rider’s aid as it is going to be mandatory in India from April 2019.
The powertrain is also a shared unit from the R3, the similar 321cc, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine. The motor is claimed to make out 42HP @ 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm @ 9,000 rpm in support with a 6-speed gearbox. With this powertrain, the motorcycle is capable of touching the top speed of 180kmph (approx). Tips weighing scale at 168kgs, the MT-03 is a lightweight offering to handle with ease.
In terms of pricing, we could see the Yamaha MT-03 with price sticker tagged with amount around INR 3,25,000 (ex-showroom India).
