The three-wheeled Yamaha Niken which made its global debut at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show will be made available for online booking on May 17. The global price of the bike will be revealed on that day only. Indian fans, for the time being, will have to wait a little longer to lay their hands on this Japanese machine.
A video highlighting the electronics package of the bike has been uploaded by the Japanese giant. Some of the notable features include:
- An assist and slipper clutch
- Quick shifter enabling clutchless upshifts
- Two modes traction control system
- Cruise control sans 4th gear or over 50km/h speed
The one of its kind three wheeler beast has two 15-inch wheels in front and a single 17-inch wheel at the back. The two front tires get two inverted forks each connected to a central hub for stability and control. Yamaha has kept the power capabilities and the price tag of the three-legged beast under wraps for now. What we know for sure is that It is powered by a 847cc inline-three cylinder engine.
