Now-a-days, several motorcycle manufacturing companies are following similar strategies of introducing a number of variants under single model or keep refreshing the firm's flagship models. The same thing is followed by the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, Yamaha. Last year, the company has introduced a refreshed version of its flagship Superbike i.e. Yamaha R1M. It could also be said as a new machine behind same identity. Recently, the Japanese firm has registered a trademark "YZF-R1S". With the filled name, it clearly seems to be the third Superbike in the row of firm's flagship motorcycle.
As per some claimed voices, the newly filled trademarked name would be the American version of the Yamaha R1M. The firm has registered the R1S specifically for the United States; it would not be making its appearance in the European countries. The Yamaha R1M is the higher spec version over the base model, R1; which brings it closer to the MotoGP racing superbikes. Similarly, the upcoming Yamaha R1S could be expected to receive more power and performance over the R1M. Although, the Japanese hasn't speak anything regarding the higher-spec model.
The firm has made the Yamaha R1M available worldwide, but the R1S would surely be America-destined. The expectations from the Yamaha R1S would definitely higher than the R1M. The firm would likely to make it a "Luxury Sports" motorcycle. The first teaser released by the company showcased the sketches, revealing the single-sided swingarm. Well, being a liter-class engined sports motorcycle and equipped with a single-sided swingarm, the upcoming Yamaha R1S would definitely become a luxury sports motorcycle.
The Yamaha will be introducing the "R1S" in a limited edition model, making it special for its owners. The Yamaha R1M is also doing great in terms of sales even having this much higher price tag of £18,499. Let's wait for another announcement to roll out from the company.
