Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 Gets Costlier by INR 2000

The Yamaha YZF-R15 is a highly admired entry-level sports tourer in India. Lately, its latest version, the V3.0 was introduced at the price sticker of INR 1.25 lakhs. Now, post price revision, it has become INR 2000 more expensive over the launched price, at INR 2.7 lakhs. Both the mentioned prices are applicable at Mumbai dealerships.

However, the reason behind the price hike is not disclosed by the company yet. Still, we could consider it an increase in input costs. Various manufacturers have done with their products and others are in the queue to adopt such route in order to compensate for input price costs. The Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 is the latest version which draws styling inspiration from its elders on sale globally, the Yamaha YZF-R6 and YZF-R1. As compared to the last model, the motorcycle is more sharp, in proportion and aerodynamic in nature.

Mechanically, the new 155cc, liquid-cooled, the fuel-injected engine takes propelling responsibilities of the YZF-R15 V3.0. it churns out 19.03 HP at 10,000 rpm and 15 Nm of torque at 8500 rpm. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, the engine gets a slip and assist clutch that offers seamless upshift and downshifts.

The Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 is fabricated with LED head and tail lights, fully-digital instrument console with a gear-shifting timing light, and variable valves actuation (VVA) for flawless power and torque supply across the rev range. However, the motorcycle missed out on trendy features like Bluetooth connectivity that is even being provided with scooters and obviously the advanced safety feature of ABS.

However, the YZF-R15 V3.0 has seen price hike though it is a value for money offering in the entry-level sports bike segment. But its more powerful naked sibling, the Yamaha FZ25 that asks for INR 1.18 lakhs ex-showroom, Mumbai, somewhere peek into its market share.
