It’s party time for videographers! The manufacturer of imaging devices has brought a new cinema camera in its Cinema EOS camera line. The C300 Mark II – the refreshed model of the C300. The new C300 has come as a complete new device with improved 8.85-megapixel super 35mm CMOS sensor.
The leading company in digital imaging solution has cut the ribbon from its new EOS camera which is specially designed to record event, documentary, cinema, and commercial videos. You can call it the 4K version of its elder brother C300. Yes, the camera is meant to shoot 4K videos without any glitches. Thanks to Dual DIGIC DV5 processors and new Canon XF-AVC Codec with improved bit rate, which allows the device to record 10-bit 4K content internally at 4:2:2 color sampling with the help of CFast 2.0 cards.
ISO sensitivity to 102,400 points is just remarkable to shoot great videos even in dark, without having any light source. If your demand is not for 4K, then you can also shoot full-HD (1,920 x 1,080), 2K DCI (2,048 X 1,080), 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) along with the pure 4K DCI (4,096 x 2,160) resolution. Not only the recording, image quality has also been enhanced with dynamic range of upto 15 stops. Its new CMOS sensor doesn’t only enhance the picture quality, but also reduced the noise.
EOS C300 Mark II has built-in 3G-SDI ports for RAW video recording, but for that it needs external recorder. To offer high-quality image output, Canon has built its new EOS camera with Dual DIGIC DV 5 processors which works along with Canon’s CMOS sensor to offer images at 410 Mbps rate. It is capable to record in slow motion at 120fps. The area of autofocusing has also been expanded with Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology which goes to 80 percent vertically and 80 percent horizontally of the whole image. Earlier, the company had brought one more camera in EOS range for videographers for the same purpose of 4K video shooting, named XC10.
The design of the camera has also been revamped with wider body than its predecessor. It also gets built-in microphone and SD card slot for scratch audio and 8-bit 4:2:0 Full HD proxy recordings respectively. To make it comfortable to operate parts of this Canon C300 Mark II cinema camera has been removed and added as per the requirement. However, we can’t guess its competence as it will reach in market in September 2015 with a price tag of $20,000.00 which is exorbitantly pricey. Let’s see! Will geeks go for this or not?
