Dell, on this monday has unveiled its new XPS 13 2-in-1 along with Dell 27 ultrathin S 2718 monitor. The XPS 13 2-in-1 will initially be available in the US from Thursday, January 5, with a price tag of USD 999.99 (Rs 68,100 approx). Meanwhile, the Dell 27 ultrathin monitor will be available in the US markets from March 23 priced starting from USD 699.99 (Rs 47,700 approx).
Coming straight first to the XPS 13 2-in-1, being the first 2-in-1 device by the company, the company has many expectations with this model. The Windows 10 running hybrid features a 13.3-inch InfinityEdge display, which makes it the “World’s smallest 2-in-1 gadget on the planet”. The device is backed up by a 46 Whr battery, which according to company can deliver a backup of 15-hours while watching full HD videos, and 9 hours if you’re streaming Netflix content.
The 2-in-1 is blessed with a complete aluminium design language, a carbon fiber palm rest, and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass NBT. Moreover, it is also compatible with the Dell Active Pen stylus and includes two Waves MaxxAudio Pro tuned speakers, infrared webcam and a fingerprint sensor along with it.
As far as further specifications are concerned, the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 comes with a choice in the display, which includes a 13.3-inch full-HD display of resolution 1920X1080 pixels or an UltraSharp Quad-HD+ InfinityEdge touch display of resolution 3200X1800 pixels. It also allows a user to choose from two processing units, which includes, a seventh generation Intel Core i5-7Y54 processor (up to 3.2GHz) or a Intel Core i7-7Y75 processor (up to 3.6GHz) both of which are paired with Intel Graphics 615.
The crossover laptop is blessed with 4GB of 1866MHz LPDDR3 RAM, but user is also allowed to choose from 8GB or 16GB configurations as well. Furthermore the basic model comes with a 128GB SATA SSD, but the options are also available to choose from 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB PCIe SSD. Connectivity options on the board includes Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Miracast, and Intel Smart Connect technology whereas it also packs a Thunderbolt 3 port, a DisplayPort, USB Type-C 3.1, microSD card reader, and a headset jack as ports on the device.
Coming next to the Dell Ultrathin Monitor, the latest screen features a 27-inch QHD display of resolution 2650X1440 pixels along with a refresh rate of 60Hz. Dell has claimed a 178-degree viewing angle along with 99 percent sRGB colour gamut. Ports on the screen includes a USB Type-C port for power delivery, apart from a HDMI 2.0 port, and an audio line-out. There is also an HDR-ready version available of the device.
