As per the company, the devices will be procurable from November with price tags of $100 and $150 respectively. Diving into both devices, then the firm has not revealed much about its newly introduced heirs. But, taking a glance at HP's event in New York, where some of the specs have been publicized. Notably, the tablets are packed with Intel Atom Z3735G quad-core processor alongside a Bluetooth 4.0 option. With the comprisal of Windows 8.1 OS and full desktop integration, the gadgets are compatible with all desktop based applications.
The handhelds will surely allure the consumers with the inclusion of 1GB RAM alongside the availability of 32GB inbuilt memory at an affordable price. However, the new scions in HP's Stream series are said to be equipped with a microSD card, but maximum storage capacity is still unspecified.
The firm has also divulged about the freebies on tablets such as 1TB of OneDrive storage, an optional 200MB of free 4G data for each month. The gadgets are set to launch with 1 year free subscription of Skype and Microsoft Office 365 Personal. Here, Stream 7 has been claimed to compete with Toshiba Encore Mini that is currently the most inexpensive device in United states.
Although, HP Stream 7 and Stream 8 could not match the performance of iPad Mini and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, but they will assuredly heat up the segment of low-cost smart devices.
