Receiving a simulator named Raspberry Pie has been a joyful thing for electronics engineer. It took their imagination to the next level of gadget designing. For some reasons, few of them didn't liked it because of small processor and low RAM but appreciation has knocked more than any other such simulator or self designing computer. The Raspberry Pie Single Board Computer was launched in 2012 at $35 and here a new SBC is ready to enter the market. Here we are talking about the Banana Pie.

Banana Pie is not the successor of Raspberry Pie. It is a completely new design with a credit card size and several peripheral attachment ports. Definitely the Banana Pie is a lot better than Raspberry Pie as it has got a 1 GHz Cortex A7 based processor and 1 GB RAM with Mali 400 GPU which is over took by the 700MHz ARM11 Broadcom BCM2835 processor and 512 MB RAM of Raspberry. Perhaps, the ad-on functions and modules of Raspberry Pie will work efficiently over the Banana Pie.

Banana Pie is definitely faster and advance in term of overall functioning. It has got many futuristic external peripheral device ports which include CSA connector camera, micro USB power, SATA, USB OTG, HDMI Out, 2 USB 2.0, and Ethernet which can grab speed upto 1 GBPS. The 24 PIN layout of Banana Pie is powerful enough to endow compatibility with Raspberry Pie Modules. The Bana Pie is available at $75 including shipping.
