Sony unveiled the Xperia Tablet Z2 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and according to the Sony it is the world’s thinnest (6.4mm) and world’s lightest (426gm) waterproof tablet. The Tablet is 1mm thinner and 10% lighter than the Apple’s iPad Air Tablet which is considered as the market rivalry for the tablet.

Z2 is featured with the Andriod Kit-Kat 4.4 operating system which is the latest Android version and is also powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB RAM to get things really moving. As the tablet is said to be waterproof, it means that it can submerged upto 1.5 m of water for upto 30 minutes. Storage capacity is 16 GB but can be extended upto 64 GB through external microSD card.

In terms of design, it comes with the Omnibalance design which means an Aluminium frame with glass front which gives a look of uniform thickness and straight edges. The size of the tablet is 10.1 inches with the resolution 1920x1200 pixels and offers the pixel density of 224ppi along with trimolous display which provides brighter and bolder colours making it more effective and attractive.

It include very latest Exmor RS sensor for the slate's 8.1-megapixel rear face, while the 2.2-megapixel front camera retains the same Exmor R sensor as its predecessor Xperia Tablet Z. The 8 megapixel camera is good enough to take some Instagram shots and 2 megapixel front facing camera is good enough for Skype and video conferencing.

If we talk about the trimolous display than it is the latest display technology developed by Sony and used for the Sony Bravia LED TVs. The shades of red, green and blue increases picture clarity which result in much sharper images with bold and bright colors. The technology is now being used in the Xperia tablet Z2.

The speakers are positioned on the front of the tablet which gives loud media sound, this concept is somewhat similar to the principle used by the HTC for HTC One's Boomsound speakers. It is provided with 6,000 mAH battery which gives 10 hours of video playback.

Sony also provided several accessories that you can buy separately like a charging Dork and more interestingly, a remote control that help you to control your device without getting up off your chair. The device can be coupled with slim, unpowered earphones specially designed for the tablet which comes with the noise cancelling functionality.

Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet isn't bringing massive changes from the predecessor but still able to make its mark in the market .Its waterproof design is the most interesting feature. This allows you to watch your movies in the bath, or in the kitchen. Its quad core processor provides efficient and fast working experience. And in the end, Android Kit-Kat O.S. and light weight make it above from all other tablets present in the market.
