Cyber-security is one of the major sources which if gets weak, then the whole of your organization can get affected from this. As we all are fully aware that more than 60 percent of our work today needs the Internet to initiate, in this kind of era we must secure our confidential data to keep the organization running without having any major issue related to the data breach.
Every country has its own private files, which can damage the whole country if hacked. At this time, the leading techno giant firm Microsoft India launched a full-scale Cyber Security Engagement center (CSEC) on Friday in India.
Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman, Microsoft India, told reporters, “We believe the security of critical information is imperative for our corporate customers, just as it is vital to ensure security and privacy of citizen data and transactions. Our first investment towards this was setting up our local data centers in India and the Cybersecurity Engagement Centre is the second.”
Microsoft will now be protecting across many points- detection of attacks using targeted signals, from sensors to the data center, behavioral monitoring and machine learning and lastly closing the gap between discovery and action were taken to counteract the attack.
According to Kaspersky, the leading software security company, India is believed to be in the list of Top 5 countries in the World, which can be attacked by ransomware-malware, that forces the victims to pay a certain amount to regain their data.
Microsoft said, “The team observed three common IT issues plaguing them that include unmanaged and unregulated IT assets usage, procurement and maintenance, poor knowledge of cyber hygiene among users within organizations and inability of companies to timely monitor, detect and remove cyber threats”. The company met with over 100 organizations in the country, in the last 12 months to understand what plagued them.
Madhu Khatri, Associate General Counsel of Microsoft India said, “As governments and enterprise embrace digital transformation and strive for resilience, a holistic and agile security platform is ever more critical. This is where Microsoft's unique threat intelligence innovations and trusted cloud ecosystem offer them powerful protection against security threats.”
The newly built CSEC intend to expand company’s public-private partnership in the country to enable and empower the organizations to manage modern security threats effectively.
Microsoft said in a statement, “This will build on the momentum in the last few years, where the Microsoft Digital Crimes Unit (DCU) has fostered various partnerships with public sector and enforcement agencies globally. Microsoft’s Digital Crimes Unit (DCU) seeks to build trust by fighting global malware, reducing digital risk and protecting vulnerable populations.”
The company later added, “The DCU does this by combining big data analytics, cutting-edge forensics, and novel legal strategies. This includes strategic collaboration with Interpol in global malware botnet disruption operations and a PhotoDNA licensing collaboration to support Interpol’s efforts in preventing child sexual exploitation online, as well as cyber threat intelligence sharing partnerships with several Internet Service Providers in the region and government Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs).”
By this, the organizations in the country will also get an advantage of having Microsoft security specialists in their team.
The Microsoft Consultancy Services (MCS), will also provide security consultancy services to enterprise services. The company later stated, “The MCS team works closely with enterprises to understand their business goals, challenges, and technical maturity to develop enterprise security strategies and empower them through their critical digital transformation.”
The statement added, “Through its three-pronged approach of a comprehensive platform, unique intelligence and partnerships, Microsoft is aiming to drive educational sessions and coaching sessions with enterprises in the country.”
