A new app has been developed that allows you to immolate processing power of your mobile for scientific research while you sleep. Mobile phone is in inert phase when mobile users are asleep. At the time of asleep, millions of processors are going uncustomed for many hours.

The Power Sleep app provides a simple alarm clock function for all mobile users. It will begin to process data from SIMAP database when your phone is fully charged and connected to Wi-Fi network. This research is emphasized on studying protein sequences to help in medical disciplines like biochemistry, genetics and heredity, cancer research and molecular biology.

Professor of Bio-informatics, Thomas Rattei said "In order to fight diseases like cancer and Alzheimers, we need to know how proteins are arranged," Rattei also added "This requires trials that need a tremendous amount of processing power. Power Sleep is a bridge between science and society. It promotes not only our research, but allows people in Austria to become part of the project and, at the same time, to do good even while they are sleeping."

Barkley Open Infrastructure has been connected with Power Sleep for Network Computing (A network that links approx 60,000 computers worldwide).
