Alcatel, a Finnish based smartphone manufacturer has launched the new smartphone dubbed as Alcatel 5V with unique features such as 19:9 aspect ratio, dual rear cameras integrated with AI-powered capabilities and Google Lens as well.
It is worth noting that the Alcatel 5V has been launched in selected markets including the US. To recall, Alcatel 1 Android Oreo Go Edition smartphone was launched in the previous month.

The Alcatel 5V comes with a price tag of $199 which roughly translates to Rs. 13,600. The recently launched Alcatel 5V soon will be available for purchase only in some specific markets including the US and other list is not available at the moment.
The Alcatel 5V features a metallic unibody design and featuring an Apple iPhone X like notch. A thin chin can be visible at the bottom edge on the front side and the smartphone does not have any hardware buttons.
The rear panel comes with vertically positioned dual rear cameras followed by an LED flash. Additionally, there is a fingerprint sensor which is positioned at the centric- side on the rear side and also has an Alcatel logo underneath the fingerprint sensor. It is available in Black and Blue color options.
The Alcatel 5V comes with a Face Unlock feature offering 106 high-precision facial key points and 30-degree detection radius delivering rapid access with a 0.5 second unlock time.
Alcatel 5V comes with a larger 6.2-inch display along with the 19:9 aspect ratio, 88 percent screen-to-body ratio and the screen resolution of 720x1500 pixels. It runs on top of the line Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and supports a single Micro-SIM slot.
The Alcatel 5V features a 2.5D Asahi Dragontrail glass which protects the smartphone from scratches and damages and also has the capacitive screen with five-point multitouch. In terms of hardware, it has MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core integrated with 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage with an option to extend further up to 128GB by using a microSD card.
In terms of photography, the Alcatel 5V comes with dual cameras on the rear panel which consisting of 12MP primary and 2MP secondary sensor with an aperture of f/2.2 and f/2.4 respectively.
The dual rear camera setup comes with dual- tone LED flash, real-time bokeh, burst shot, EIS, HDR, light trace, Social Mode (Instant Collage, Photo Booth, Easyshare),AI Scene detection, night mode, panorama, PDAF, real-time filters, refocus, Selfie Album, slow motion, snapshot in video recording, time-lapse, and video story.
Up front, there is 8MP selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2 and fixed focus offering Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), face beautification and burst shot.
The Alcatel 5V is powered by a 4000 mAh battery which can be rated to deliver up to 18 hours of talk-time and 620 hours of standby time. It takes 2 Hours 48 minutes to charge the gadget fully.
Connectivity options on the Alcatel 5V are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, GPS, A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, NFC, FM radio. Sensors on the smartphone are the accelerometer, e-compass, fingerprint sensor, gyro sensor, light sensor, and proximity sensor. It measures 153.7x74.55x8.5mm and weighs 158 grams.
