Apple is planning to launch its most affordable 9.7-inch iPad at the cheapest price in 2018. The Technology giant will reportedly disclose a new version of regular-sized iPad at a price point of $259 (approximately Rs. 16,700) in the second quarter of 2018, reports suggested. Apple had launched a 9.7-inch iPad earlier this year at a starting price of $329 (approximately ₹21,200) in march this Year.
The report says the Apple has been aggressively pushing its ipad range with the lowest prices on the regular variants and major yearly updates for the ipad pro. Now Apple would be planning to attract more buyer and concern to continue shipping 10 million tablets per quarter.
In the second case, the newer model might just be a slightly toned down version of the current 2017 ipad with a similar design and camera sensor. The handset is backed by a 32.4Wh non-removable battery that is rated to deliver up to 10 hours of web surfing.The device would be manufactured by Compal Electronics and ‘may arrive in the second quarter of 2018’, according to the report. Apple is said to be looking to target affordable Android tablets by offering users a cheaper option to switch to iOS.
Apple's current 9.7-inch iPad sports an aluminium unibody and a Retina display with the resolution of 2048x1536 pixel. It is powered by Apple's A9 chipset with 64-bit architecture, along with the M9 motion co-processor. Apple iPad 9.7 come in two storage variants i.e. 32GB and 128GB whereas 32GB variant cost at Rs. 28000 and 128 GB variant cost at Rs. 35,700. The cellular version of the 9.7-inch iPad is priced at Rs 38,600 (32GB) and Rs 46,300(128 GB).
Apple iPad 9.7-inch is equipped with 8MP rear autofocus camera with f/2.4 aperture, 5P lens and several shooting modes including Panorama, Timer, Hybrid IR Filter, Auto Image Stabilization and more. The camera can record Full HD resolution video at 30fps and slo-mo videos at 120fps. The 9.7-inch iPad also has a 1.2MP FaceTime HD camera with f/2.2 aperture and HD video recording.
