Blackberry, the Canadian smartphone manufacturer company is always known to provide enticing qwerty based smartphones to the customers. The rumored Blackberry ‘Athena’ has recently appeared on TENNA Chinese Certification Website which is likely to be the successor of BlackBerry KEYone, dubbed as the BlackBerry KEY2.
According to the images posted at Blackberry dedicated forums, indicating that the upcoming Blackberry qwerty based smartphone will come with the new keyboard design, but this time the Canadian company will use matte keys rather than the glossy keys and it is a bigger improvement that we would see on BlackBerry KEY2.
According to the images spotted on TENNA Website, One of the major changes we have noticed that BlackBerry logo is missing on the spacebar. It seems that the back panel of the smartphones is built with plastic material but with a rubberized texture, which is a notable difference between the rumored BlackBerry KEY2 and the previously launched BlackBerry KEYOne. The power button is positioned on the right-hand side of the smartphone along with volume power keys. Additionally, one more key is placed on the right-hand side which is likely to be used for the camera as well as other functionalities. The render images also show that dual rear cameras are positioned horizontally on the back panel along with LED flash which is to be considered the highlighting feature of BlackBerry KEY2.
The SIM tray is positioned on the left-hand side of the smartphone whereas the speaker is placed on the bottom side along with a micro USB type C port. The current leaked images show that the smartphone packs a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the top.
The previous leaked reports also suggest that smartphone would come with a USB-C port for charging as well as a headphone jack on the top. It is anticipated that the smartphone will be embedded with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, which will be equipped with 8GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage.

As of now, we don’t know the more detailed information regarding the BlackBerry KEY2.
To recall, the BlackBerry KEYone was launched previously in August 2017 in India and it is currently available for purchase at Rs 36,000. The smartphone made with an aluminum frame and packs a 4.5-inch full-HD IPS display with the screen resolution of 1620x1080 pixels and protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. In terms of software, it comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core 625 SoC which is clocked at 2GHz and Adreno 506 GPU. The smartphone is bundled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage that can be further extended up to 2TB by using the memory card.
It is fueled by a 3505 mAh battery along with the support of QuickCharge 3.0. It comes with a ‘Boost' charging feature in which the users can charge the 50 percent phone around in 36 minutes, claimed by the company.
In terms of camera department, the Blackberry Keyone sport a 12-megapixel rear camera featuring Sony IMX378 sensor an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling along with a wide-angle lens and an LED flash. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone offers hybrid dual sim, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a USB Type-C port. The weight of the smartphone around 180 grams and measures 149.3 x 72.5 x 9.4 mm.
