Celkon Mobiles has unveiled a new budget-friendly handset called Celkon UniQ in India with a price tag of Rs. 8,999. The smartphone is listed on the company's website in Grey and Gold colors.
The dual-SIM Celkon UniQ runs Android 7.0 Nougat and features a metal body 5-inch HD IPS display with the resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and 2.5D curved glass protection. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core SoC, coupled with 3GB of RAM.The Celkon UniQ comes with 32GB of internal storage which is further expandable via microSD card slot. It is packed with a 2,700mah Lithium Polymer battery.

On the part of optics, the handset features 16-megapixel rear camera along with LED flash. The front panel house an 8-megapixel camera sensor with a "Moonlight" flash. For the connectivity option, the handset includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB, 3.5mm audio jack, and GPS.
Last year, Celkon Mobiles partnered with Airtel to launch Star 4G+ at an 'effective price' of Rs. 1,249, though the market price of the smartphone is approximately Rs. 2,999. The partnership was aimed to expand Airtel's 'Mera Pehla Smartphone' initiative that was aimed to make smartphones affordable for the masses. Customers opting for the Celkon Star 4G+ under the tie-up needs to make a down payment of Rs 2,749. Further, users will have to make 36 continuous monthly recharges of Rs 169. In return, Airtel will provide them with a cashback of Rs. 500 after 18 months and another Rs 1,000 after 36 months, taking the total cash benefit to Rs 1,500.
