Coolpad has introduced an all new budget smartphone in the US dubbed as Defiant. The new offering by the company will be exclusively available via T-mobile with a price tag of USD 100 (Rs 6,500 approx). Moreover, the company is also offering easy monthly instalments of USD 4 for 24 months to grab the new Coolpad Defiant smartphone.
The biggest highlight of the Android smartphone is supposed to be its Android 7.0 Nougat based OS. Further specifications of the handset include a 5-inch FWVGA display with a resolution of 480x854 pixels. It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB of inbuilt memory space, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.
In term of optics, the Dual-SIM smartphone packs a 5-megapixel rear camera along with a 2-megapixel front shooter for shooting selfies. The device is backed up by a 2450mAh, which is claimed to deliver up to 16.5 hours of talk time and a standby time of up to 288 hours.
Connectivity options of the GSM handset include Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, HSPA+ with download speeds of up to 42Mbps and 4G VoLTE support. As per now, the company has not revealed any availability details of the entry-level Coolpad Defiant outside the US.
As a recall, Coolpad also launched Cool Play 6 smartphone last month in China with a price tag of CNT 1,499 (Rs 14,000 approx). One of the highlighting features of the previously launched smartphone is its massive 4060mAh battery.
In term of specifications, the Cool Play 6 is blessed with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt memory space, which can be expanded via microSD card. The optical part of the handset includes a dual camera setup - with two 13-megapixel Sony sensors for monochrome and depth of field functions. An 8-megapixel front shooter is also provided by the company for selfie enthusiasts.
