The much-awaited smartphone of Xiaomi: Redmi 2 eventually announced for Indian marketplace. Notably, device has been labeled with a price tag of Rs. 6,999 for native space and it will be available via flash sales just like its predecessor: Redmi 1S. Well, prospective buyers that are eager to get their hands on this budget-friendly 4G smartphone will have to wait till March 24, but registration for it will start today from 6pm via exclusive E-commerce partner of firm, Flipkart.
Carrying an affordable price tag, mobile phone engineered with a 64-bit 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 processor and incorporates Adreno 306 GPU for a pleasant mobile-experience. Apart from 4G connectivity, device offers 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and comes with OTG Support.
Paired with dual-SIM card slots, gadget features a 4.7-inch fully laminated IPS HD display, which produces a pixel resolution of 1280 x 720p and pixel density of 312ppi. Coming to imaging front, it houses an 8-megapixel BSI main shooter outfitted with Omnivision image sensor, LED flash, face recognition, HDR, panorama, burst mode, exposure control functionality. Additionally, phone is clubbed with a 2-megapixel selfie snapper.
Talking about memory, Xiaomi Redmi 2 is coupled with 1GB RAM alongside 8GB of internal storage that is extendable upto 32GB by using a microSD card. The mobile runs on company's own MIUI 6 skin over Android 4.4 KitKat OS, which renders new functions, shortcuts, customizations and animations.
Moreover, handset is fueled by a 2200mAh lithium-ion polymer battery and loaded with Quick charge 1.0 Technology. As the matter of fact, Chinese giant has competitively priced its novel creation in order to gain a better revenue in domestic market. But, Redmi 2 will have to face a tough rivalry with most powerful smartphone of budget segment: Lenovo A6000 to be a best buy.
