Google has finally launched the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL at its I/O 2019 keynote address. Both the newly launched smartphones are more affordable and competes with the premium smartphones in the market. As compared to the mid-range smartphones like the Apple and Samsung, the Google is offering Pixel-based apps and services to both the smartphones such as the famed photography software of the company on the low-cost hardware as compared to the last year launched Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones.
The latest duo smartphones were launched at the Google I/O, a three-day developer conference held at the company’s headquarters in Mountain View, California. Given below are the details of the smartphone briefly.
The price sticker of the Google Pixel 3a in India is Rs. 39,999.
The Google Pixel 3a comes in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone will be released on 15th May in India and the smartphone can be pre-booked from 8th May at 12:30 PM IST through Flipkart. The pixel 3a comes in three color options i.e. Purplish, Just Black, and Clearly White but only last two will come to India.
The Indian customers will get a benefit of ‘free 3-month YouTube Music Premium subscription’ and this will only happen if the customers activate the smartphone before 30th September.
The company has set a price tag of the Google Pixel 3a XL in India at Rs. 44,999.
The Google Pixel 3a XL will have the same storage option as of the Google Pixel 3a and will also release on the same day as of it in India. The smartphone will be registered from 8th May through Flipkart at 12:30 PM IST. It has been announced in three color options and in India only Clearly White and Just Black will be available.
The launch offers are same as the Google Pixel 3a i.e. 3-month YouTUbe Music Premium subscription.
The Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL in US will carry a price tag of $399 (around Rs. 28,000) and $479 (around Rs. 33,500). The duo smartphones will also be made available in the countries including Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Spain, and the UK.
In terms of the specs, the Google Pixel 3a comes with a 5.6-inch full-HD+ gOLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The display is protected from the Dragontrail glass which offers 24-bit colour depth (16 million colours) and comes with polycarbonate unibody design. Under the hood, the smartphone gets the power from the Snapdragon 670 SoC (two cores clocked at 2GHz and six cores clocked at 1.7GHz) mated with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 64GB of storage.
The dual-SIM Google Pixel 3a runs on the Android 9.0 Pie and along with this the smartphone will get a security updates and OS of minimum 3 years. The company has given the smartphone AR Core framework support for augmented reality applications along with the Titan M security chip.

The smartphone holds a capacity of 3000 mAh battery which the company claims to give up to 12 hours of video playback time. The smartphone will also come with an 18-watt charger which is claimed to give up to 7 hours of battery life just by 15-minute charge and can also deliver up to 30 hours when the phone is fully charged.
In terms of the connectivity options, the smartphone includes Wi-FI 802.11ac, G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Bluetooth v5.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack on top. The handset comes with the dimensions 151.3 x 70.1 x 8.2 mm and weighs 147 grams.
In terms of the sensors, the handset comes with an accelerometer, active edge, barometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor. A Pixel Imprint fingerprint scanner is also positioned at the back of the smartphone for security purpose. The smartphone comes with stereo speakers.
In terms of the imaging point, the Google Pixel 3a at the back comes with single 12.2-megapixel Dual-Pixel Sony IMX363 sensor, along with optical and electronic image stabilisation (OIS + EIS), 1/2.55-inch sensor, 76-degree field of view, an f/1.8 aperture, and 1.4-micron pixels. The smartphone also features Night Sight low-light photography, HDR+, Super Res Zoom, Portrait Mode, and Top Shot. The back camera can also take 120fps video recording at 1080p, 240fps at 720p, and 30fps at 4K.
At the front, the smartphone includes an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, 1.12-micron pixels, and an 84-degree field of view for selfies and video calling.
