Huawei sub-brand Honor confirms that the Honor 8A soon to be launched in the Indian market under the price tag of Rs 10,000. The Honor 8A will be featuring a water drop-shaped display notch for the selfie camera. As of now, the company has not announced the launch date of the Honor 8A. It is being speculated that the Chinese tech giant most probably launches the Honor 8A at the beginning of February 2019. The Honor 8A is likely to be available in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants under the price tag of Rs 10,000.
To recall the Honor Play 8A was recently launched in the China market which would be launched as Honor 8A in the Indian market. It seems to be the entry-level smartphone for India.
The Honor 8A has been listed on Vmall, which is a China-based e-commerce website - along with detailed specifications. Interestingly, the pre-bookings of the smartphone have commenced in the China market before the official unveiling of the Honor 8A. It seems that the Honor 8A will go on sale from January 8, 2019. The highlighting features of the smartphone include a water drop- shaped style notch, octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) processor and 3GB of RAM. The Honor 8A is to be the successor of Honor 7A that was launched in India in the previous year.
In China, the Honor 8A has been priced at CNY 799 which roughly converts to Rs. 8,000 for the base 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant, while the price of 3GB RAM and 64GB storage model is yet to be disclosed. At Vmall, it has been listed in three color options including Aurora Blue, Magic Night Black, and Platinum Gold. The smartphone will be available for purchase from January 8 particularly in the China market.
As of now, the company has not disclosed the information regarding the Honor 8A global launch event. However, in China, the Honor 8A is set to launch on January 8.
The Honor 8A has a 6.09-inch HD+ TFT IPS LCD panel along with trending water-drop display notch that offers a 720x1560 pixels resolution and 283 PPI pixel density. It runs on the Android 9.0 Pie OS skinned with EMUI 9.0. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) SoC, coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB/ 64GB internal storage which can be further extended up to 512GB via microSD card. It supports dual-SIM (Nano).
As far as camera specs are considered, the Honor 8A comes with a single 13MP rear camera featuring an aperture of f/1.8 and phase-detection autofocus (PDAF). The rear camera is accompanied by an LED flash and supports HDR feature as well. Up front, the smartphone has an 8MP selfie snapper with an aperture of f/2.0.
The Honor 8A is armed with a 3,020 mAh battery. For the connectivity purpose, the smartphone gets a 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, MicroUSB 2.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
To recall, the Honor 7A was launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 8,999 in May 2018. The smartphone featured dual camera sensors and a physical fingerprint scanner on the rear panel.
