HTC Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer company announces two mid-range budget segment smartphone dubbed as HTC Desire 12 and HTC Desire 12+ in India on 5th June. Both of the smartphones were unveiled by the company globally in March this year. Both, HTC Desire 12 and Desire 12+ feature an 18:9 aspect ratio and come with a durable acrylic glass surface on the back panel. The Desire 12+ has dual- rear camera setup and gets an LED flash in selfie- shooter. In India, HTC Desire 12 has been priced at Rs 15,800, whereas the Desire 12+ has been launched at a price of Rs 19,790. The users can pre-book the mid-budget segment smartphones from 7th June via HTC, online store. The shipments of these two smartphones would start from 11th June in India. Currently, the company has not revealed any launch offers for Desire 12 and Desire 12+. The company is offering the smartphone in two color options: Cool Black and Warm Silver.
The HTC Desire 12 has 5.5-inch HD+ IPS display, 18:9 aspect ratio and a screen resolution of 720x1440 pixels. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 SoC, matted with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage with an option to extend further up to 2TB by using a memory card. It runs on Android-based HTC Sense UI.
In terms of camera department, the HTC Desire 12 gets a 13-megapixel rear camera with features such as PDAF, LED flash and an aperture of f/2.2. For selfie and video calling, the smartphone has 5-megapixel front- camera with an aperture of f/2.4. The connectivity options on the Desire 12 are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on the board are an ambient light, proximity sensor, motion G-sensor, and a magnetic sensor. Under the hood, it packs a 2730mAh battery. The dimensions and weight of the smartphone are 48.5x 70.8x 8.2 mm and 137 grams respectively.
Now moving to HTC Desire 12+ flaunts a 6-inch HD+ IPS display, 18:9 aspect ratio and a screen resolution of 720x1440 pixels. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box based on HTC Sense UI. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset. The smartphone is equipped with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage that can be further extended up to 2TB via microSD card.
The HTC Desire 12+ comes with dual- rear cameras with the combination of 13-megapixel primary camera and 2-megapixel secondary camera. The dual- rear camera setup offering an aperture of f/2.2, Bokeh mode, Face detection, and Panorama mode. At the front, the smartphone gets an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.0, Beauty Mode and HDR.
In terms of connectivity, HTC Desire 12+ include G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on the smartphone are ambient light, proximity sensor, motion G-sensor, and a compass. The fingerprint sensor is positioned on the rear panel of the smartphone. Under the hood, it is armed with 2965 mAh battery. In terms of dimensions, it measures 158.2x76.2 x 8.4 mm and the weight of the smartphone is 157.5 grams.
