As expected, the Honor Play has been launched by the Chinese smartphone player in India on 6th August which will be available for purchase exclusively at Amazon.in.
Amazon listing has started teasing the India launch before the official announcement in the Indian market. To recall, the Honor Play was launched in China this year in June month alongside Honor 9i (2018).

According to a tweet that has been posted by Honor India on its official Twitter account read that, “Great news #Honor fans!! The superbly powerful #HonorPlay will be on sale exclusively on @amazonIN from 6th August 2018 starting at 4 pm IST.”
Interested users can watch the live streaming of gaming-centric Honor Play which is set to be scheduled at 11:45 am IST on Honor official website, Facebook and Youtube channels.
The Huawei Honor Play, 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM variants are available for purchase at a price tag of Rs 19,999 and Rs 23,999 respectively on Amazon and Huawei official website in India.
It has been bundled with 10GB additional data valid for one year, particularly to the Vodafone subscribers. The deliveries of the gaming based Honor Play will start from 8th and 9th August on Honor official website and Amazon.in respectively.
The Honor Play features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ display which offers the screen resolution of 1080x2340 pixels and 85 percent NTSC color gamut. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo layered with EMUI 8.2. It comes with Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered capabilities including Face Unlock, Notification Safety, scene object, and 3D facial recognition.
In terms of hardware, the smartphone gets an octa-core Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor coupled with Mali-G72 GPU and the built-in NPU (neural processor unit).
The company claims that GPU Turbo Technology helps to enhance the performance of the smartphone by 60 percent and also consumes less battery up to 30 percent.
The smartphone comes with 4GB or 6GB RAM options and 64GB internal storage. Further, memory can be extended up to 256GB by using a micro SD card.
The Honor Play has dual cameras on the rear side along with AI-powered features. The rear camera set up packs a 16MP+2MP with an aperture of f/2.2 and f/2.4 aperture respectively. Up front, the smartphone gets a 16MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0.
The Honor Play supports dual- sim, micro SD card, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port for transferring data. The smartphone is bundled with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, fingerprint sensor and proximity sensor.
Under the hood, it is powered by a 3750 mAh battery. It measures and weighs 157.91x74.27x7.48mm and 176 grams respectively.
