Huawei, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has partnered with OneAssist to provide affordable protection plans to customers on the purchase of Honor and Huawei smartphones in India. As per the announcement made by the company, the protection plans are presently applicable on recently launched Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei P20 Lite, Honor 7X, Honor V10, Honor 8 Pro and among others. The quite interesting part is that Huawei made the announcement of protection plans after when the OnePlus has started offering a complimentary 12-month accidental damage insurance in partnership with Servify on the purchase of newly launched premium OnePlus 6 smartphone.
The affordable protection plans will be available at a starting price of Rs 1,249 and it will be valid for the period of one year from the date of activation of the plan.
President of Sales for Huawei India and Consumer Business Group stated in a press statement, "Having collaborated with one of the pioneers of smartphone protection and assistance, OneAssist, we strive to provide consumers with unmatched services. We are confident that this association will be fruitful for our customers and will provide unparalleled, innovative services to our customers.”
The announcement being made by the company reported that the protection plans will cover liquid damages, any type of accidental, (for instance if the screen of the smartphone gets damaged). Customers who purchase Huawei Protection Plans will be provided various benefits such as free pick up and drop, cashless claim service, 24×7 on-call assistance and among others. Huawei further reported that that free pickup-drop facility will be provided throughout India and the plans will activate automatically within 15- days of purchasing protection plans.
Presently, Huawei India is currently operating nearly 21 exclusive service centres and more than 250 authorized service centres throughout India. The Shenzhen-based company would be planning to diversify its service network in India and offer new services to customers to hold its position in the country in front of competitors.
