Infinix, Hong- Kong-based smartphone manufacturer has launched the Infinix Note 5 in India on 23rd August. It runs on stock Android and being a part of Google Android One programme that means it gets regular software updates, security patches and more.
Furthermore, the Infinix Note 5 has been preloaded with Google Assistant, Google Photos, and Google Lens. It comes with artificial intelligence (AI) powered capabilities such as Auto Scene Detection and AI power management. The Infinix Note 5 starts at Rs 9,999 and goes up to 11,999.
The base variant, 3GB RAM+32GB internal storage of Infinix Note 5 is retailing at Rs 9,999 whereas the 4GB RAM+64GB internal storage variant has been priced at Rs 11,999. At these price point, the Infinix Note 5 compete against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Honor 9 Lite.
The smartphone will be available for purchase at Flipkart from 31st August. It is available in Ice Blue, Milan Black, and Berlin Grey color options.
As a part of Google Android One Programme, Infinix Note 5 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and expecting to soon receive the Android Pie software update. The Note 5 from Infinix boasts a 5.99-inch full-HD+ View display having the screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, 85 percent screen-to-body ratio, 18:9 aspect ratio and 500 nits of brightness.
It is designed with a glass panel and the company has used 10 layer coating of reflective nano-chrome particles which makes the smartphone tougher. It has 2.5D curved glass on the top which protects the smartphone from scratching and damaging.
It is powered by a MediaTek Helio P23 SoC integrated with ARM Mali G71 GPU. The company has offered the smartphone in two variants including 3GB RAM+32GB and 4GB RAM+64GB internal storage. Further, the internal storage can be extended up to 128GB by using a micro SD card.
In terms of lens, the Infinix Note 5 comes with a single 12-megapixel rear camera offering 1.25-micron pixel size, an aperture of f/2.0 and an LED flash. The rear camera set up has AI-based auto scene detection, AI portrait mode and low-light photography.
For selfies and video calling, the smartphone gets a 16-megapixel selfie snapper with an aperture of f/2.0. It also comes with four-in-one pixel technology which the company claims to convert four smaller pixels into one big pixel.
The selfie camera has several impressive features such as low-light selfie, AI beauty mode, AI bokeh selfie and softlight flash. The AI beauty mode in the front camera is touting to detect 255 facial points.
The connectivity options in the Infinix Note 5 include dual- sim, micro SD card, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, FM radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is bundled with an ambient light sensor, compass, G-sensor, hall sensor, proximity sensor, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Infinix Note 5 is armed with a 4,500mAh battery along with an AI power management and shipped with 18W X charger that supports fast charging. The dimensions of the smartphone are 158.25x75.25x8.65mm and weight is 175 grams.
