It has been a year since the Delhi rape case victim died due to some really dispiteous people. She fought for her life with all life supporting systems and managed to survive for few days but she ended up her life with a huge black dot on the government's loose security and defense system. She encouraged many young citizens of the country to fought for their rights and bring change in the system of government's rules, but the corruption has made every right thing fall on head and placed humanity to a dirty corner.
Now it has become our own responsibility to protect ourselves, our families our colleagues, friends etc. And do the needful with the resources available. Some IT companies have came forward to help on the same and developed some good applications which will make our guardians and relatives informed about our locations and other information with which they can follows us and help to resist something happening unlawful. Here are some nice applications which must be downloaded and activated for self security issues.
1. Gaurdian App (Windows Phone) - It is a new Application in the market which is working on the same job as mentioned above. This app is equipped with a "Track Me" option which will inform our friends, relatives and family members about our location. In case of emergency, this app will inform Police and hospitals for help with its "SOS" feature. The specialty of this app is this works well even if the phone gets broken or doesn’t work properly.
2. Nirbhaya: Be Fearless (Android) - This application is available for Android smartphones. It gets activated just by shaking the phone. On shaking, it transmits an emergency message to all the Nirbhaya listed contacts of the phone. Consumer need to activate this app after linking it to phone contacts. One activated, if user shakes the phone and presses the hot key, it will send message to all listed contacts along with location via GPS.
3. Fightback app (Android) - This app is available on Google play store. It uses “panic alert” option for sending a emergency message to app listed contacts. It also uses GPS to send location of the victim to the listed numbers. User need to register to use this app which is available for free.
4. Help Alert (Android) - Help Alert is a similar app to all other such apps described above. It also shares GPS connectivity to send the location to the selected numbers which are listed in the app. Along with a emergency message, it also sends a voice message in users own voice and updates the text message on user's Facebook wall. Alike other apps, it does not activate on shaking.
5. iFollow (Android) - This app works just like other such apps. It also transmits emergency message to the listed contacts on shaking. As the app gets installed, the icon gets displayed over the home screen.
