Lenovo, the leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer, after launching the teaser video of its next #KillerNote earlier this month, on Friday revealed the launch date of the smartphone through its all social media channels. As per the uploaded image by the company, the smartphone will be launched on August 9, 2017, and the 8 number showcased in image hints that the upcoming device will be the Lenovo K8 Note, not the K7 Note as expected earlier.
The company has finalized the official launch date after posting some mathematical-based quizzes on its social media account. Notably, Lenovo has skipped the model number K7 Note, which could be a bit surprising, as some other giant companies like OnePlus and Samsung also ditched their OnePlus 4 and Galaxy Note 6 models respectively, and has jumped to upper model numbers for specific reasons.
Company’s reason behind going with number ‘8’ is still a mystery, but the number does suggest that the upcoming handset would feature a dual rear camera set up. As a recall, the company’s previously launched K6 Note was blessed with a single rear camera module, which makes it more possible to get a dual rear camera setup.
Recently, the Android handset has also been surfaced via GeekBench, which has revealed some specifications of the upcoming ‘Killer Note’. As per the listing, the Dual-SIM smartphone will be seen running the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. Moreover, the GSM handset will be powered by a 1.4GHz MediaTek Helio X20 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM.
