To recall, the LG G7 ThinQ and LG G7+ ThinQ were globally unveiled on 2nd May at an event in New York. The LG ThinQ series smartphones come with a dedicated button to operate Google Assistant and Google Lens. The LG G7 ThinQ and G7+ ThinQ have a notch on the top of the display and Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered features.
The company reported that G7 ThinQ is the first smartphone from LG that is integrated with a Google Lens which is considered the smart object recognition feature. At the launch event, the company stated, “Google Lens is a new way to search using the latest in AI and computer vision.

Available inside the Google Assistant and Google Photos, it can deliver more information on objects such as landmarks, plants, animals, books as well as identifying text. Visit websites, add a business card to contacts, add events to the calendar or look up an item on a restaurant menu – all right from Google Lens. More details on Google Lens will be revealed at Google I/O.”
The camera of new LG G7 ThinQ comes with object recognition feature and the company called it Vision AI. Likewise Vision AI, Voice AI helps the user to render better output on voice commands. The Taiwanese company had launched the V30S ThinQ smartphone with similar AI features at Mobile World Congress (2018) Event previously in February which was conducted in Barcelona.
LG said, “LG has further enhanced the AI features of the camera that first debuted in the LG V30S ThinQ. AI CAM now offers 19 shooting modes, up from eight, for even more intelligence-optimized shots. And users can improve their photos further by choosing among three other effect options if the one recommended by AI CAM doesn’t suit their tastes.”
South- Korea is the first market where the LG G7 ThinQ and G7+ ThinQ were available for purchase.
Now, the South-Korean giant has launched the LG G7+ ThinQ in India at a price tag of Rs. 39,990. The smartphone will be available for purchase from 10th August via Flipkart across India. In India, it is available in two color options Platinum Gray and Aurora Black .
The LG ThinQ shares the similar specifications with LG G7+ ThinQ excluding RAM and storage. The former comes with a larger 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage. As of now, the company has launched only LG G7+ ThinQ, there is no information on when the LG ThinQ will arrive in India.
Lg G7 ThinQ comes with a notch on the top of the display resembling Apple iPhone X. The LG flagship smartphone brings a 6.1-inch QHD+ FullVision display with the screen resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels. The smartphone is said to feature an edge-to-edge display, rounded corners, and thin bezels.
The dimensions of the smartphone are 153.2 x 71.9 x 7.9 mm and it weighs around 162 grams. It is embedded with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. It will be available in four color options: Platinum Gray, Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue and Raspberry Rose. Although the G7 is certified with the IP68 rating which helps to protect the smartphone from dust and water.
LG G7 ThinQ packs the dual 16-megapixel rear cameras along with wide angle lens. For the selfie snapper, the smartphone sport an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with an aperture of f/1.9.
The LG G7 ThinQ comes with various connectivity options such as WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G VoLTE, NFC, and USB Type-C 2.0. Under the hood, it is fueled by a 3,000mAh battery along with Quick Charge 3.0 Technology and wireless charging feature.
Apart from face unlock, the smartphone also has a fingerprint scanner which is positioned below the rear cameras. The company also focuses to deliver better audio features so that LG G7 ThinQ is equipped with Boombox speaker which helps to increase the audio capacity of the smartphone by 6 decibels.
LG said, “The LG G7 ThinQ is also the first smartphone to offer DTS:X to deliver virtual 3D sound for all content, up to 7.1 channel audio with earphones. Carrying on the heritage of LG’s focus on great smartphone sound, the LG G7 ThinQ is equipped with a Hi-Fi Quad DAC for incredibly rich sound especially when paired with high-impedance earphones.”
