LG Launched New X-series Smartphones Ahead Of MWC 2016

The South Korean, electronics manufacturer, LG, unveiled a new X series smartphone dubbed as X Cam and X Screen on Monday, February 15. As the name suggests LG X Cam's main USP is its camera, whereas LG X Screen's marquee feature is its display. The new X-Series of smartphones will be launched in key markets in Asia, Europe and Latin America starting next month. It is expected that LG may announce the pricing of the new X-Series of smartphones in March.

LG X Cam sports dual cameras with 13MP primary snapper and a 5MP secondary camera to assist in capturing finer details of the scene. It also houses an 8MP camera on the front enough to get a decent selfie. Other significant features include 5.2-inch full HD display, Android Marshmallow OS, 1.14GHz Octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory and a 2520mAh battery power.

On the other hand, LG X Screen features a dual display panel having 4.93-inch HD screen and a dedicated 1.76-inch ticker-display so that the users can easily access frequently-used apps, answer calls without interrupting the current activity or just play music, check time, date, battery status and other notifications. It also features 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 13MP camera on the back, 8MP snapper, a 2300mAh battery.

Juno Cho, president (& CEO), LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, in a press statement, said, "Everyone has a favourite smartphone feature. At LG, we think there's room for devices that do one thing very well and that customers shouldn't have to pay for features that they don't want. At the end of the day, we're committed to offering consumers more choices".

The company has confirmed that the new LG X cam and X screen will be showcased at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 (Feb. 22 - Feb. 25) and will hit stores in Asia, Europe and Latin American markets next month.
