Meizu 16X and the Meizu X8 have been unveiled by Meizu particularly in the China market. The highlighting features of Meizu 16X and the Meizu X8 include Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, 6GB RAM, dual rear cameras and Android 8.1 Oreo.
The Meizu 16X and Meizu X8 share almost similar specifications but with some minor differences - The X8 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner whereas the 16X gets an under-display fingerprint scanner. Another difference is that the Meizu 16X doesn’t have a notch on the top of the display, whereas the X8 features a display notch similar to the iPhone X.

Meizu 16X comes with a starting price of CNY 2,098 (approximately Rs. 22,200) and goes up to CNY 2,398 (approximately Rs. 25,400). The company has offered Black, Gold, and White color options of Meizu 16X, which is available for pre-orders in China. The deliveries of the smartphone will start on September 26, 2018.
On the other hand, the Meizu X8 comes in three storage variants including 4GB RAM+64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM+128GB ROM that have been priced at CNY 1,598 (roughly Rs. 16,900), CNY 1,798 (roughly Rs. 19,100), CNY 1,998 (roughly Rs. 21,200) respectively.
The Meizu X8 will be available for purchase from October 15, 2018, in Black, Blue, and White color variants of Meizu X8.
Meizu 16X is a more premium version than the X8. The former has a 6-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with the screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 402ppi pixel density. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo layered with Flyme OS.
The smartphone has thin bezels on the top and bottom of the display and no physical buttons are available on the front panel of a gadget. It looks like a premium smartphone in terms of appearance.
Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC (dual 2.2GHz Kryo 360 + hexa 1.7GHz Kryo 360 CPUs) coupled with 616 GPU. For storing content, the smartphone gets a 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage.
The Meizu 16X comes with dual rear cameras consisting of a 12-megapixel primary sensor and 20-megapixel secondary sensor with an aperture lens of f/1.8 and f/2.6 respectively. Four-axis OIS, PDAF, and laser auto-focus some of the features are available in rear camera set up.
The rear camera sensors are accompanied by six-LED ring LED flash. For selfies and video calling, the smartphone gets a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with an aperture lens of f/2.0 as well as support AI face unlock.
The Meizu 16X sports advanced under-display fingerprint scanner technology which unlocks the device faster and quicker than the rear fingerprint scanner.
The battery back up of Meizu 16X 3,100mAh which is similar to the Meizu V8 Pro. The smartphone has dual-sim support and compatibility with 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port.
The dimensions of the smartphone are 151x73.5x7.5 mm and weight is 154 grams.
Now, moving to Meizu X8 features, it has a same 6.2-inch full-HD+ display, 401 ppi pixel density and screen resolution of 1080x2220 pixels and 18.5:9 aspect ratio.
The company has offered Meizu X8 in three variants including 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM.
For photography, the Meizu X8 comes with dual cameras on the rear panel which includes 12- megapixel primary sensor and 5 megapixel secondary sensor. The rear camera set up is accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash.
For selfies, the smartphone gets a 20- megapixel front-facing camera equipped with Smart blur and ArcSoft AI-powered capabilities which allow the users to capture clear selfies.
The Meizu X8 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It is armed with a 3,210mAh battery along with mCharge fast charging. It measures 151.2x74.6x7.8mm and weighs 160 grams which is 6 grams more than the Meizu 16X.
All of the remaining specifications of Meizu X8 are identical to that of Meizu 16X. One must note that the Meizu 16X and Meizu X8 are launched only in the China market. Currently, the Chinese tech giant has not announced when it would unveil the Meizu 16X and Meizu X8 globally, including India.
