Chinese electronics company Meizu recently launched two new flagship phones, Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus with dual-cameras and rear display, in China. The major thing to notice about these smartphones is the presence of a rear AMOLED display. Both the phones feature a dual-camera setup at the back. Instead of following the LG’s approach of putting a second screen on top of the front display (like the LG V20), Meizu went one step further and placed a second screen at the back side of its new phones. It is not a full-length screen, but a small display that shows the notifications, time, weather, and can also work as a selfie screen for the rear camera. The back screen is placed right below the dual-camera setup at the top left side.
The design of both the Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus is almost identical, with dual cameras and a secondary screen present on the back. Both the phones feature a slim metallic body. Both have a Home button in the front along with fingerprint scanner beneath it. The speaker and USB Type-C port are given on the bottom edge while 3.5mm audio jack is present on the top edge. The power and volume keys are as usual on the right edge of the phones.
Moving on to specifications, the Meizu Pro 7 runs Android 7.0 Nougat based Flyme OS 6. The front of the phone has a 5.2-inch full HD Super AMOLED screen while the back has a 1.9-inch Super AMOLED display. It is available in two variants with different processors and internal storage, but the same 4GB RAM. The 64GB version is powered by a 2.5GHz MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core processor with Mali-T880 GPU while the 128GB version comes with a 2.6GHz MediaTek Helio X30 deca-core 10nm processor with PowerVR 7XTP-MP4 GPU. Other features include dual-SIM support, 12MP dual rear cameras, LED flash, a 16MP front camera, 3000mAh battery, Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, and GPS.
The Meizu Pro 7 Plus features a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED front display and a 1.9-inch back screen. It is powered by 2.6GHz MediaTek Helio X30 10nm deca-core processor with PowerVR 7XTP-MP4 GPU coupled with a 6GB RAM. Other features include two 12MP cameras at the back and a 16MP front camera, Android 7.0 OS, dual-SIM support, and a 3500mAh battery with fast charging support.
Both the phones will go on sale in China starting from August 5.
