Micromax on Wednesday disclosed the new Canvas Amaze 2 smartphone in India with a price tag of INR 7,499. The newly launched Android smartphone would be available for purchase through online mode on e-commerce website Flipkart from Thursday.
In terms of display, the new Micromax Canvas Amaze 2 includes a 5-inch HD IPS display giving a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and is further protected from scratches due to the presence of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, the GSM-based handset is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-center Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clubbed with 2GB of RAM. The handset packs 16GB of inbuilt storage with an expandable capacity of at most 64GB using an external microSD card.
The handset operates on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and similar to other popular handsets, gives a Dual-SIM support along with a 2500mAh battery. The Dual-SIM smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel camera on the front end. The device in terms of connectivity offers standard options like 4G LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB.
Commenting on the launch, Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax Informatics said, "With the launch of new Canvas Amaze 2, we are looking at offering a seamless and connected smartphone experience, which makes their lives simpler and at the same time more amazing with benefits that come with the smartphone. The launch further reiterates our successful partnership with Flipkart to bring the best in class smartphones with industry leading specification to price ratio for our consumers."
One must recall that the domestic smartphone maker just last month unveiled the Canvas Selfie 4 smartphone alongside the launch of Micromax Bolt Selfie. The greatest highlight of the Micromax Canvas Selfie 4 was its 8-megapixel front and back camera which was equally supported by Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and by the presence of back 'Tap Sensor' which as per the company had the ability to click pictures just by tapping. The sensor additionally also gave the user the ability to pick the calls effortlessly.
