Micromax, the leading Indian smartphone maker, has launched the latest mobile in India - Micromax Dual 5, that comes incorporated with the dual-rear camera. The handset will be made available from 10th April via Flipkart India with a price tag of Rs. 24,999. This latest Micromax mobile will also be made available from the Micromax E-Store and offline stores across the nation. The registration for Micromax Dual 5 has already been started on the company's official website.
As the name states the biggest highlighting feature of the handset is its dual rear camera setup. This handset is the first of the Micromax smartphone that has been incorporated with the dual rear camera setup and will soon be followed by Dual 4 smartphone. Micromax has used two 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 sensors on the rear, one for monochrome light and the other for RGB (color), featuring a f/1.8 aperture. A color temperature sensor has also been used to optimally merges the two captured images. One of the camera sensors is tasked with focus and the other is tasked with capturing the depth of field information. The dual cameras have features such as Bokeh Mode and Low-Light Mode along with other smartphone camera features like - Pano, Pro, Slow Shutter, Anti-Haze, Macro, and Monochrome. Both the camera are also capable of capturing video in 4K UHD resolution, along with 3D video functionality.

On the front, the Micromax Dual 5 sports 13-megapixel selfie camera, with a 1.12-micron pixel Sony IMX258 sensor. the front camera also comes with a f/2.0 aperture and features a soft selfie flash module. The front camera also has features including an integrated SmartBeauty mode, gesture control, and a GIF maker. The company is additionally claiming that the handset has been built from a single slab of aircraft-grade aluminum. This latest Micromax handset features 3D antenna technology, keeping the antennae on the metal frame of the smartphone. Micromax is also boasting of an additional customizable key and the integration of a panic button for the safety purpose that can be used by pressing the power button thrice at the time of any danger or threat.
The Micromax has also added an extra advance SafeSwitch feature, which is meant to prevent loss of data upon theft. The company has said that if the SIM card in the phone is pulled out, and if the prompted password is not entered within 30 seconds, the phone will lock including all buttons - thus, it can't be turned off and allows for tracking. Further, after 60 minutes of the SIM removal, if no password is entered, the phone data will be completely wiped. Even without the SIM removal trigger, if someone tries to hack the password or pattern lock, then their photo will be taken and sent to a pre-selected number. The Micromax Dual 5 smartphone will come with the Micromax Care app, and the company also announced a 24-hour hour service promise and a 1-year replacement warranty.

The Micromax Dual 5 operates on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and has a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) Super AMOLED 2.5D curved display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a 100 percent NTSC color spectrum. The device has been powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 MSM8976 SoC (4 Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and 4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz) along with 4GB of RAM. The handset also has a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel that is claimed to unlock the device in up to 0.2 seconds. Additionally, the fingerprint sensor functions as a selfie key and offers gestures controls, and a 360-degree acceptance angle. Micromax Dual 5 also has been added with a Secure Vault feature that creates a private profile for the primary user and stores all private data and can only be unlocked by their fingerprint. This latest Micromax mobile in India also comes with a security chip, which is a separate chip for storing passwords and fingerprints and uses EAL 5+ military-grade security.
Apart from 4G VoLTE connectivity, the latest Micromax Dual 5 also supports connectivity options like - Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, an infrared sensor, and proximity sensor. The phone has 128GB of inbuilt storage that can be further expanded up to 128GB via an external microSD card. The handset has been powered by a 3200mAh battery along with Quick Charge 3.0 feature, about which company claims that it can charge the 95 percent in 45 minutes, while 10 minutes of charging can provide up to 4 hours of usage time.
