After a long time, the domestic smartphone manufacturer, Micromax at its 'Guts to Change' Gurgaon event unveiled several new devices including smartphones, new television, and new tablets. The home based firm was unveiled a total of 19 products in an event, out of which 15 were new phones. However, it only launched the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro in India.
As it is seen from a long time that Micromax has been struggling to set up its foothold in the Indian market. To overcome this issue and to change the company's brand image, it is trying to put the necessary efforts.
The company also unveiled a new logo and branding. At the event, Micromax emphasised that it has worked hard to improve software and services which a customer wants from its devices.
Along with Micromax Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro, the company launched the other smartphones named as the Micromax bolt Supreme, Bolt Supreme 2, Bolt Q381, Canvas Spark 2+, Canvas Evok, Canvas Mega 2 and Canvas Unite 4.
The 4G based Micromax Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro have been priced at Rs. 13,999. The smartphones have already gone up for pre-orders via the company's own site, the former is expected to become available soon.
In terms of specifications, both the smartphone features a 5.5-inch full HD display having a resolution of 1080*1920 pixels and is offering a pixel density of 401ppi. For the power, the Canvas 6 is powered by an unspecified MediaTek octa-core SoC and the Canvas 6 Pro is powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio MT6795m SoC.
On the other hand, the Canvas 6 also bears the first metal body and an advanced fingerprint scanner on a Micromax phone for the security. The Canvas 6 features a 3GB of RAM while the Canvas 6 Pro clubs a 4GB of RAM. For the storage, the Canvas 6 has an inbuilt storage of 32GB and Canvas 6 Pro has 16GB storage, that can be further expanded via microSD card slot expansion.
Both the smartphone incorporates a 13-megapixel camera at the rear end. On the front end, the Canvas 6 bears an 8-megapixel front facing camera and a 5-megapixel camera on Canvas 6 Pro. On the software end, both the smartphone runs on Android 5.12 based Lollipop operating system and comes with Android UI on top out of the box.
Both of the smnartphones are backed by a 3000mAh battery.
