Indian company Micromax headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana quite recently unveiled Canvas Spark 2 Plus smartphone for INR 3,999 and as per the latest reports, the company has again brought forward another smartphone for the Indian buyers dubbed Canvas Mega 2 priced nominally at INR 7,999 available for purchase.
The major highlight of this Android smartphone is its 6-inch qHD display screen that gives a resolution of 540x960 pixels and houses a 3000mAh battery. One must recall that the company showcased this smartphone at the launching of its two other recently launched devices Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro and had promised its users about launching Spark 2 Plus soon.
Commenting on the launch Mr. Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax Informatics said, "With the launch of Canvas Mega 2, we will surely drive the value for money phablet category in the country by addressing major consumer pain points of better viewing experience and more productivity on-the-go at disruptive price points. With the cricketing season on its roll, the new smartphone will be a true haven for the sports aficionados in the country as they will be able to consume best quality cricket viewing experience on the move."
Despite having a 15 percent share in the phablet segment with respect to the Indian market, the company launched this new product to further strengthen the percentage of phablet ratio in the country.
In terms of specifications, the GSM-based handset runs on Android Lollipop out-of-the-box and comes preloaded with 1.3GHz quad-core processor under the hood. Additionally, the device sports 1GB of RAM and offers 8GB internal storage capacity that is expandable up to 32GB using external microSD card. On the camera front, the smartphone sports 8-megapixel rear camera coupled with a 5-megapixel camera on the front end both supporting LED flash. Lastly, in terms of connectivity, the device offers standard options like 4G LTE and also include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS, and 3G.
