Microsoft's personal digital assistant, Cortana, has been officially launched on Android and iOS. From a couple of months, the Company has been testing the App for both the platforms. Back in May, it was announced by the firm and now it's official that Cortana is out of beta ready to be used on the competent platforms.
Earlier this year in August, Microsoft had kicked off Cortana in its testing for Android. Limited beta for iOS has been announced last month. As per now, both the versions are available only to users in the United States and China. Though both have left the testing phase. The App, naturally, is not as powerful as it is on Windows 10. The main reason for this is that both the rivals, i.e., Android and iOS do not offer much of the third-party apps to be integrated, which limits the things that could be done on your device by Cortana.
A blog post by the company stated, "While the Cortana app is fully-featured, there are some things Cortana can do on Windows phones that aren't currently possible with iOS or Android. This includes toggling settings or opening apps, and the ability to invoke Cortana hands-free by saying 'Hey Cortana.'"
The company clears about its working on making the App more powerful, but it would serve as a companion app for your Windows 10 desktop. Your work can be synchronized on both the platforms by which you can keep track of your reminders, meetings, package deliveries, etc., as well as on your phone. Besides this, Cortana will also be integrated on Cyanogen OS powered devices, due to the partnership announced prior this year.
