As expected, HMD Global has a new smartphone in India called with Nokia 6.1 Plus at an event in New Delhi on 21st August. To recall, the Nokia 6.1 Plus was previously launched in the Hong Kong on 19th July.
Recently the Nokia has introduced the 6GB RAM variant of the Nokia 6.1 in India at an introductory price of INR 18,499 on its official store.
Obviously, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is a global variant of Nokia X6 that was launched in China this year in May and Nokia 5.1 Plus is a modified name of previously launched Nokia X5. Alongside, the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the Finnish smartphone manufacturer company is also working on Nokia 5.1 Plus that is expected to be unveiled in the upcoming month
The Nokia 6.1 Plus has been priced at Rs 15,999 which is available for pre-order on Amazon and Flipkart just after the formal launch in India. As a part of launch offers, it will be bundled with Airtel cashback offer. However, the Finnish smartphone manufacturer has not revealed the price of Nokia 5.1 Plus.
It looks like the company would reveal the price of 5.1 Plus in September when it hits in the Indian market. Both Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus will be available at Flipkart and company online store, Nokia.com.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus features a 5.8-inch full-HD+ display which offers 19:9 aspect ratio, 96 percent color gamut and the screen resolution of 1080x2280 pixels. It runs on advanced Android 8.1 Oreo - out-of-the-box and a part of Android One programme. The smartphone boasts notch on the top of the display that houses front-facing camera and speakers.
It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage with an option to extend further up to 400GB by using a micro SD card. It comes with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass on the top which protects the Nokia 6.1 Plus from damage and scratch.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus is armed with a 3060 mAh battery coupled with an 18W charger that has the capacity to charge up to 50 percent battery of the smartphone just in 30 minutes and also comes with Quick Charge 3.0 Technology.
In terms of camera, The Nokia 6.1 Plus has dual 16MP + 5MP cameras on the rear panel with an aperture of f/2.0 and 1-micron pixels. Up front, the smartphone gets a 16MP camera for selfies and video calling with same f/2.0 aperture and 1-micron pixel sensor.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus supports dual- sim, micro SD card, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone is equipped with an, ambient light sensor, digital compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. The dimensions of the smartphone are 147.2x70.98x7.99 mm excluding the lens and enhance up to 8.59mm with the lens and its weight is 151 grams.
Now moving to the Nokia 5.1 Plus comes with a display notch that has a 19:9 aspect ratio. It is embedded with MediaTek Helio P60 processor coupled with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to render AI features.
The Nokia 5.1 Plus has dual cameras on the rear panel consisting of 13-megapixel primary sensor and 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Both of the smartphones come with bothie feature and AI-assisted portrait lighting as well. Both smartphones are a part of Android One Programme as the company promises to render regular software updates.
