After launching the Nokia X6 globally, the HMD Global has launched the Nokia X5, particularly in the China market on 18th July 2018. Previously, it was scheduled to launch on 11th July due to some venue issues the company had postponed the launch date from 11th July to 18th July. Nokia X5 is the second smartphone in the X- series being offered by HMD Global.
The Nokia X5 has been priced at CNY 999 (approximately Rs 9,999) for 3GB RAM+32GB onboard storage, whereas 4GB RAM+64GB onboard storage variant is retailing at CNY 1,399 (approximately Rs. 13,999).
The smartphone will be available for purchase from 19th July and the registrations of the smartphone have commenced on the chinese website i.e., Suning.com. The company will offer the Nokia X5 in Night Black, Baltic Sea Blue, and Glacier White colour options.
The Nokia X5 features a sandwich glass along with a polycarbonate frame. The smartphone comes with notch on the front along with slighter chin which can be visible at the bottom edge of the display branded with Nokia logo.
On the rear panel of the smartphone, you can see there is vertically positioned dual cameras, an LED flash, fingerprint scanner and Nokia logo. The power button and volume keys are positioned on the right hand side and a 3.5mm headphone jack is positioned on the top side of the smartphone.
The Nokia X5 has been the matter of subject from last few days, as leaks appeared on the internet frequently. As expected, the younger sibling of Nokia X5 features a 5.86-inch HD+ Display with 19:9 aspect ratio, screen resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and 84 percent screen-to-body ratio.
It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box as the company promises to deliver monthly patches and latest Android software updates on X5. In terms of hardware, the smartphone has MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core SoC.
HMD Global is offering the smartphone in two storage variants 3GB RAM+32GB onboard storage and 4GB RAM+64GB onboard storage. It supports a microSD card which have the capacity to extend further up to (up to 256GB)
In terms of camera department, the budget segment Nokia X5 features dual cameras on the rear panel which includes 13MP primary sensor with an aperture rate of f/2.0 and 5MP secondary sensor. An LED flash is positioned underneath the rear camera setup.
The leaked reports suggested that the X5 will get 8MP selfie- snapper for capturing selfies and video calling which becomes true. The front camera comes with AI image technology,, portrait skin mode, HDR mode, built-in portrait background blur, an aperture of f/2.2, 80.4 degree angle of view and more.
Under the hood, the Nokia X5 is powered by a 3060 mAh battery which can be promised to deliver 27 hours of life time, 17.5 hours of talk time, 19.5 hours of music track, 12 hours of video playback and 5.8 hours of gaming, claims company.
The Nokia X5 supports USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, FM radio, and Dual 4G Dual VoLTE. Sensors on the Nokia X5 include ambient light sensor, accelerometer, digital compass, gyroscope, proximity sensor and fingerprint sensor.
