At an event in Mumbai, the OnePlus 5T Star Wars limited editions launched in India. The smartphone is unveiled just before the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi movie in the country. This limited edition gadget is available in a white back panel with a Star Wars logo on the smartphone, in addition to the 10 preloaded wallpapers and other feature customizations. The OnePLus has rolled out a rugged case cover with the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition which is inspired from based on Kylo Ren's helmet from the star wars movie.
The smartphone will be available in the market from December 15 to 12 am IST. Till the stock lasts, it will be available on OnePlus Experience stores in Bangalore and Noida. The company also mentioned that it will keep pop-up programs in 9 cities in the country. During the pop-up program, the customer will be able to encounter with the OnePlus 5T in India during December 16 and 17 across 6 cities including Mumbai, Pune, Kochi, Delhi, Chennai, and Bengaluru. In addition, Kolkata and Hyderabad will have their own pop-up stores.
The company mentions the sandstone white back panel of OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition gadget takes inspiration from the white-colored salt plains of the mineral planet Crait, as shown in the movie. Talking about the red of the Alert slider, it is inspired from the red-colored mineral mined as shown in the movie on the planet. The box shows the Star Wars branding featured Star Wars stickers, besides the OnePlus sticker. The customized theme of the smartphone is available in black, red, and white colors. The Star Wars collaboration with OnePlus 5T Star Wars limited edition is only restricted to India and some Nordic region including Finland, Sweden, and Denmark.
The limited edition of Oneplus 5T is available in India with the price tag of Rs. 38,999. The smartphone is equipped with an 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage setup which is replacing the previous the 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage version. The addition of extra storage mechanism makes it Rs. 1,000 more costly than the precursor.
Celebrating the anniversary in India, the launch offer of OnePlus smartphones will get zero cost EMI, Rs. 2,000 extra off for exchanging any OnePlus device and further Rs. 1,000 additional discount on the exchange of any other devices. Besides, Rs. 1,500 off on purchase of OnePlus smartphone comprising the OnePlus 5T Star Wars limited edition. OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition users will leverage to obtain up to 1TB of additional data from the Idea company. Users will also get an advantage in 1 year of free membership of Zomato Gold which is the latest launched premium subscription offering of Zomato. All the aforementioned anniversary offers are valid until December 19, 2017.
Coming to the specification setup, it has some specifications just similar to the existing variant. It runs on OxygenOS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The display measures a 6.01-inch full-HD(1080 x 2160 pixels) Full Optic AMOLED along with an aspect ratio of 18:9 2.5D, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, 401ppi pixel density, sRGB, and DCI-P3 color gamuts. The smartphone is strengthened by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC and available with options of either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and matched up to 2.45GHz clock setup.
OnePLus 5T Limited Edition is equipped with a dual rear camera and one front camera setup. The rear takes 16-megapixel Sony IMX398 sensor with an aperture of f/1.7,1.12-micron pixels, and a focal length of 27.22mm, in addition, the other rear camera takes a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376K sensor along with identical focal length, aperture, and 1-micron pixels. The accommodation of rear camera is matched to a dual-LED flash. While the front camera obtains a 16-megapixel Sony IMX371 sensor, 1-micron pixels and an aperture specs of f/2.0.
The internal storage of the limited edition of OnePlus 5T is 128GB. Concerning connectivity, it comes equipped with Bluetooth v5.0, aptX and aptX HD, 3.5mm audio jack, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, a USB Type-C (v2.0) port, dual-band (2.4GHz, 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11ac with MIMO 2x2, and 4G VoLTE. Sensors quipped on the setup includes a digital compass, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and an RGB sensor. It has a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel as well. The smartphone is equipped with 3300mAh non-removable battery, gauges 156.1x75x7.3 mm, and weighs 162 grams.
