Oppo has launched a new smartphone in its existing product lineup in India, named as the Oppo A9. It comes packed with the dual rear camera setup, full-HD+ display and a 4020mAh battery pack as the major highlights. Other than this, an octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 SoC processor powers the device operates on brand’s patented ColorOS 6. The Ultra Night and the Dazzle Colour Modes are the features preloaded with the operating system. Capable of storing data of up to 128GB, the smartphone gets the facility of Hyper-boost which promises to deliver an improved gaming experience.
In India, the Oppo A9 is being offered only in a single 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, which will cost you INR 15,490. The sale for the smartphone will commence from July 20 and it will be available to purchase from both the platforms (online and offline stores).
In its price segment, the Oppo A9 will lock horns with the likes of Samsung Galaxy M30 INR 14,990, Redmi Note 7 Pro INR 14,500 and the Realme 3 Pro INR 14,190 in the country. However, the options such as the Realme 3 Pro and Redmi Note 7 Pro are way far advanced than the Oppo A9 in terms of provided features and turned out as a better option for a consumer. Before its launch in India, the Oppo A9 has marked its presence in China at the beginning of 2019. There, it is available to purchase at CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs. 18,000).

The Oppo A9 is a dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone which runs on ColorOS 6, based on Android Pie. It comes featured with a 6.53-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) touchscreen display which gets a water drop-style notch and has 90.70 per cent of screen-to-body ratio. The Oppo A9 screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top while the smartphone is powered by the octa-core Helio P70 SoC under the hood, in association with 4GB of RAM.
In terms of optics, the rear of the Oppo A9 is studded with a dual camera setup comprising 16-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens and a 2-megapixel camera as secondary sensor and an LED flash for better photography experience in the dark scenarios. On the other hand, the front of the smartphone sports a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 lens for shooting selfies. The front camera offers the facility of recognizing over 130 forehead points and a face slimming feature as well.
In terms of storage, the Oppo A9 comes packed with built-in storage of 128GB. On the connectivity front, the smartphone is blessed with options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB with OTG support. While the list of sensors provided on the Oppo A9 check-marked sensors like ambient light, proximity, accelerometer, and a gyroscope. The device is backed by a 4,020mAh battery setup and measures 162x76.1x8.3mm in dimensions.
