Oppo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer reported on 19th August 2018 that it has crossed selling of 400,000 units of Realme 1 within 40 days of its launch. Oppo Realme 1 was launched this year in May.
The smartphone has been developed by the Oppo to compete against the likes of Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and Redmi Note 5 Pro. Oppo sub-brand Realme stated that it has achieved the title of ‘Best Selling’ smartphone in India and has been listed on Amazon India with "highest rated phone" along with 4.4 stars rating.
The company touted, it is specifically developed for ‘Made in India’ and to be made available in three color options: Diamond Black, Solar Red, and a limited edition Moonlight Silver.
The company launched the Oppo Realme 1 in three different storage options include 6GB RAM +128GB inbuilt storage priced at Rs 13,990, whereas 4GB RAM +64GB inbuilt storage is retailing at Rs 10,990, and the base 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage comes with a price tag of Rs 8,990.
It is worth noting that all of the Realme 1 variants currently runs on top of the line Android 8.1 Oreo skinned with ColorOS 5.0 and the company has announced that soon will Android P software update in the near future. Meantime, it received some software updates which brings impressive features including diamond blue, snow white and diamond red themes, as well as optimized three-way application camera effects and optimized background memory management
Madhav Sheth, Chief Executive Officer of Realme stated in a press release while addressing at the achievement of Oppo RealMe 1, “The sales figures of Realme 1 resonate with the brand's vision of addressing the real issues present in the smartphone market and provide the ultimate user experience. “ By adding that, "We are glad our customers have been supportive of our products and have been great endorsers for the brand. Being a new entrant in the smartphone market, these results encourage us to deliver a wider range of Realme products in the future.”
To recall, Realme 1 features a 6-inch full-HD+display, screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, Android 8.1 Oreo layered with ColorOS 5.0, MediaTek Helio P60 SoC, up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB inbuilt storage.
In terms of optics, the Oppo Realme 1 comes with a single 13MP rear camera along with an LED flash. For selfies and video calling, the smartphone has 8MP front- facing camera. The camera app is preloaded with Oppo's AI Beauty 2.0 feature. It is bundled with the Face Unlock feature and the company claims that it unlock the screen of the smartphone in just 0.1 seconds by using facial expressions.
OppoRealme 1 supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth,, Micro-USB, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is armed with a 3410 mAh battery integrated with AI battery management technology. The dimensions of the smartphone are 156x75.3x7.8mm
