Sailfish OS Based Jolla Smartphones are Unique, But Should You Buy One?

Jolla is the new name in the field of mobile devices , this is introduced in 2013 by the MeeGo team of ex-Nokia employees after being dislodged from the company. Its sailfish OS is based on open source operating system, linux. Basically in 2011 Nokia has decided to introduce Linux-based new operating system and named it as MeeGo after joining the project with Intel. But after impairment in shares, the brand has decided to stop the MeeGo based devices and concentrate on windows Phone. So that we can say these devices are the successor of Nokia's N9, which was the last phone in MeeGo category.

Jolla had chosen gesture-oriented user interface for its Sailfish OS in place of on-screen buttons like Android. It will make you able to switch between “screens” smoothly. It has introduced multitasking execution . This OS is also compatible with Ubuntu applications on API-level as well as Android apps. It includes attractive colorful thumbnails and large icons for videos and music albums.

If we talk about the Firefox OS, it is totally based on HTML5 and JavaScript platform while Sailfish uses Q1, QML and HTML5 for its softwares. But this OS is more acquainted as compared to iOS and Android as well as it supports global search for the data on the devices and on-line. It also offers notification center.

Sailfish and Ubuntu both runs on QML and HTML5 platforms. QML, which allows the programmers to make powerful apps for the operating system and HTML5 makes a gateway between mobile devices and desktop web applications. And Ubuntu can be installed simply on Android-based operating system because both are developed on same platform that is, Linux while Sailfish is little incapacitated compare to Ubuntu and iOS.
