When South Korean company Samsung unveiled Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge last year, the users expected more, and keeping in mind the expectations of its massive user base, the company at the recently held MWC 2016 unveiled a new variant of both the smartphones dubbed Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. At the time of unveiling only, the company had declared the launch date for both handsets i.e., March 11, 2016, without giving any additional details.

However, recent reports from the company's end indicate to the fact that the original specs are out for both the smartphones. Before diving into the specifcation segment, let's take a short look at the basic design and curves for both the flagship products in the below given video:
Talking about specs of Galaxy S7, we observe that it sports a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display that gives a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels alongwith a pixel density of 577 ppi. The covering of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 over the top and it being both water and dust resistant makes it stand apart from the rest of the smartphones. The handset operates on Android Marshmallow OS along with a topping of Touchwiz UI. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa core Snapdragon 820, Exynos 8890, 64 bit Chipset. It supports Nano-SIM, 4GB RAM and offers two variants of memory: one 32GB whilst, one with 64GB. The memory space can be expanded up to 200GB using an external microSD card. Dimensionally, it measures 142.4 X 69.6 X 7.9 mm and carries with itself a weight of 152 grams.
The device is available in four color variants namely: Black, Silver, Gold, White and comes equipped with a 12-megapixel camera on the rear end and one 5-megapixel camera on the front end (with Dual video call support). It houses 3000mAh battery and offers standard connectivity options inclusive of 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, HSPA, GSM support, v4.2 Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, and GLONASS. Further, the device is also equipped with features like Fingerprint, Retina Scanner, Auto HDR, OIS, Accelerometer, Barometer, Proximity and Heart Rate monitor.

The sibling Galaxy S7 Edge, on the contrary, features a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display that offers a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels and a pixel density of 534 ppi. It sports a curved edge display powered by Snapdragon 820, Exynos 8890 octa processor and runs on Android Marshmallow OS. Similar to Galaxy S7, this variant too equips 4GB RAM, offers two memory variants of 32GB and 64GB with the option of expanding it up to 200GB using an external microSD card.
Galaxy S7 Edge measures 150.9 X 72.6 X 7.7 mm and carries a weight of 157 grams. It sports 12-megapixel rear camera and a front camera of 5-megapixels. Its battery capacity is bit high than basic Galaxy S7 variant since it offers 3600mAh battery.
Apart from the differences mentioned above, both the smartphones feature some common properties to like both of them offer large batteries with the fast-charging feature enabled by default that allows the device to get 100-percent of charging in just 90 minutes in case of wired charging and the same increases to approx. 120 minutes for wireless charging. Though the price cuts can vary depending on the geographical location, however, it is expected that Galaxy S7 will be priced for INR 49000 while, Galaxy S7 would be priced approx. to INR 55000.
