Sony, Tech giant has launched the new premium smartphone in India, dubbed as Xperia XZ2. To recall, previously it was showcased in MWC 2018. Some of the highlighting features of Sony Xperia XZ2 include HDR displays, advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon, front-facing stereo speakers, high- resolution audio and has an IP65/68 Ratings which protects the smartphone from splashes/ spills of water.

It is bundled with Google's ARCore and Google Lens features. Google Lens allows the users help to find captured images by using text and recognize characters.
Sony Xperia XZ2 comes with a price tag of Rs 72,990 which will be available for purchase from 1st August at Sony Centres and authorized retail stores throughout India. Sony Xperia XZ2 will be available only in Liquid Black color option.
While addressing at the launch event, the company stated in a press release, “The smartphone is designed to withstand splashes and spills so you don't have to think twice about answering your phone in the rain.”
The company claims that it Xperia XZ2 is the world’s first smartphone that features a 4K HDR movie recording. The company added, “The Xperia XZ2 has the new Ambient Flow Design (with a fluid 3D glass surface) housing "Dynamic Vibration System" that analyses audio data.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 features a 5.7-inch full HD Plus display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. It has a metallic frame and Corning Gorilla Glass on the top which protects the smartphone from scratches and damages.
Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It comes with a microSD card which supports data up to 400GB.
In terms of lens, Xperia XZ2 has a single 19-megapixel rear camera featuring autofocus burst, predictive hybrid autofocus, 4K HDR recording, 960fps super slow motion, 8x digital zoom, and SteadyShot technology. For the selfie snapper, it gets a 5-megapixel front-facing camera offering a 23mm wide angle lens and SteadyShot.
The Xperia XZ2 packs a 3180 mAh bundled with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 Technology and smart stamina mode when your smartphone battery is low and there are no chances to charge it.
The XZ2 supports USB Type-C (3.1), Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, Miracast, Screen Mirroring, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, wireless charging, and Google Cast. The Fingerprint scanner is positioned on the back panel of XZ2.
It measures 153x72x11.1 mm and weighs 198 grams. The smartphone is certified with IP65/IP68 ratings which protect the smartphone from water and dust resistance.
