Spice has just made an announcement of its new handset XLife 406 which has been indexed on Company website at just Rs. 3,799. However, company has not revealed the date of its market availability.
Featuring a 4-inch WVGA IPS display, this handset offers 480x800 pixels screen resolution. The dual SIM smartphone disappointingly takes the power from dated 1GHz single-core processor which you will find in very few devices. Currently, market has plenty of budget smartphones which are all loaded with quite impressive specs, even the processor is also capable enough in such devices which fall under this price segment. So, company’s step over here doesn’t seem commendable. However, Android 4.4 KitKat support gives us the feel of holding some good device.
512MB RAM seems adequate, but not as good to give a boost to such less-capable processor in performance. However, Mali-400 GPU is good to offer nice gaming experience on this handset. Spice XLife 406 sports a 3.2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and also has a 1.3-megapixel front imager.
The phone has specially announced for the customers in tier 2 and tier 3 cities of India. On storage side, the phone offers 4GB internal storage which can further be expanded upto 32GB using microSD card. It is backed by a 1450mAh battery that promises 7 hours of talktime. On connectivity front, it has 3G network support along with GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options.
Earlier, Spice had brought XLife series handset to target tier 2 and tier 3 cities, named XLife 404, XLife 431q, XLife 431q Lite, and XLife 512 at almost same price tags.
