Just one day after the launch of Vivo V11, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has expanded its V9 series by launching the mid-range smartphone, called with the Vivo V9 Pro in India. Vivo is has launched the V9 Pro on 26 September in the Indian market.

Before the formal launch of the V9 Pro, a teaser image of the upcoming smartphone has been spotted on Amazon.in which reveals the launch date, 26th September, time, 12 AM IST and also mentioned that it will be available for purchase exclusively at Amazon.in.
The quite interesting part is that the name of Vivo V9 Pro is not mentioned in the teaser image of Amazon.in but the Vivo new device is titled with ‘Power Meets Efficiency’.
Amazon landing page also has a ‘Notify Me’ button that means the interested users can register for the device and they would be notified via mail, message when the smartphone goes on sale.
The interested users have to tap on the ‘Notify Me’ button and required to be mentioned the name, email address and mobile number.
It looks like the Vivo V9 Pro is a modified version of previously launched Vivo V9 and comes with some improved specifications and camera sensors.
In India, the mid-range Vivo V9 comes with a price tag of Rs 17,990 for single 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage configuration. At this price point, it seems that it would face competition from Xiaomi Mi A2 and Nokia 7 Plus, which already have Snapdragon 660 processor.

Vivo V9 Pro, as the name suggests it would be the third variant under the V9 series, however, the company had previously unveiled the Vivo V9 and Vivo V9 Youth in the Indian market.
As expected, the Vivo V9 Pro bears a 6.3-inch Fullview Display 2.0. The smartphone offers 1080x2280 pixels resolution and 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo -out-of-the-box layered with Funtouch OS 4.0.
Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset integrated with Adreno GPU. For storing data, The company has offered 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage which can be extended further up to 256GB by using a microSD card.
For photography, the Vivo V9 Pro packs dual 13MP+2MP cameras on the rear panel. An LED flash is positioned underneath the rear camera set up. For selfies and video calling, the smartphone has a single 16MP front-facing camera with an aperture of f/2.0.
The selfie camera gets features such as AI selfie lighting, AI face beauty.
The Vivo V9 Pro comes with three slots which support dual- sim (Nano) and one microSD card. In terms of connectivity, the device gets dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), 4G VoLTE, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, USB OTG, and a Micro-USB port.
Under the hood, the Vivo V9 Pro is powered by a 3,260mAh battery. The dimensions and weight of the smartphone are 154.81x75.03x7.89mm and 150 grams respectively.
The reports are indicating that the Vivo is planning to launch new 4G RAM variant of V9 Pro on 1st November which would be available for purchase exclusively at Flipkart. Currently, neither the Vivo nor Flipkart have officially announced the timeline of this variant.
The leaks so far suggesting that the Vivo V9 Pro 4GB RAM variant will be launched at a maximum retail price of Rs 17,990 but will be available for purchase at a market operating price of Rs 15,990.
Initially, the new variant of Vivo V9 Pro is likely to be available at Flipkart and official website of Vivo. It is anticipated that it will come in two color options including nebula purple and black color options.
To recall, Vivo had launched the V9 Pro in a single configuration 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage exclusively at Amazon.in. The 6GB RAM variant came with an official price tag of Rs 19,990 but available for purchase at Rs 17,990 on Amazon.in.
