Vivo Xplay5 Elite and Vivo Xplay5 Available in China From March 8

Vivo Electronics is a Chinese smartphone maker that marks its presence in many other countries like China, Indonesia, Malaysia etc. Each has subsidiaries of Vivo that operate within their respective countries, designing products for their own regional needs. A little while ago the company broke records by launching the slimmest smartphone - the Vivo X5 Max and now as per the latest reports, the company has again unveiled a new smartphone that features 6GB of RAM dubbed the Vivo Xplay5 Elite. Keeping budget-friendly users in mind, the company also launched Vivo Xplay5 smartphone that features 4GB of RAM.

Vivo Xplay5 Elite is a powerful dual-SIM variant with a metal design further covered with Corning Gorilla Glass. It features a curved 5.43-inch Super AMOLED display that reminds us of Samsung Galaxy S6. The display gives a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels. Further, the handset is powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 2.15GHz that is paired with 6GB RAM and Adreno 530 GPU. It gives an onboard storage capacity of 128GB that is non-expandable which is quite obvious.

Dual-SIM-Vivo-Xplay5-Elite-with-Marshmallow-OS-and-6GB-RAM

The handset sports a 16-megapixel rear camera coupled with an 8-megapixel front camera. The rear camera is equipped with features like Sony IMX298 sensor, phase detection autofocus, 6P Lens, f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. It operates on Marshmallow OS with the Funtouch OS 2.6 skin on top and possess a fingerprint sensor on the back side. The smartphone offers 4G LTE networks, Hi-Fi 3.0 (2*ES9028+OPA1612), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, Micro-USB (with OTG) connectivity options and is further backed by a 3600mAh battery. It measures 153.5x76.2x7.59mm and carries a weight of 167.8 grams. In addition, the device comes with a bunch of sensors like gravity, ambient light, proximity, and gyroscope.

Vivo-Xplay5-with-Lollipop-OS-and-a-different-Hi-Fi-chip

The sibling of Vivo Xplay5 Elite i.e., Vivo Xplay5 runs on Android Lollipop with same Funtouch OS 2.5.1 skin on the top. It gets powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz and offers 4GB RAM and Adreno 510 GPU. It shares the same dual curved QHD display, camera, battery, connectivity options, and inbuilt storage as seen with Xplay5 Elite. However, it has a different Hi-Fi chip - CS4395+AD45257. Dimensionally, the smartphone measures 153.5X76.2X7.59mm, weighs 167.8 grams and sports fingerprint sensor.

In terms of price Vivo Xplay5 Elite will hit the stores in China from March 8 and will come with a price tag of CNY 4,288 (roughly Rs. 44,300), whilst, Vivo Xplay5 will be priced at CNY 3,698 (roughly Rs. 38,200). The company has not yet released any information that can inform about the availability of both smartphones outside China.
