The fastest growing Mobile Company, Xiaomi has fulfilled its promise by introducing next version of MIUI in an event and named it MIUI 6. The event has taken place in Beijing, China. It is said that the UI design is quite resembles iOS 7. It is a latest version of Company custom UI for Android devices. Though, it is available for developer only but it can soon run on devices after testing and bug fixes. So what the beta version of MIUI 6 has described here to make you friendly with the new and latest interface.
By end of this year, Company will begin to test this UI on Mi 2, Mi 2S, Mi 2A, Redmi 1S, and Redmi Note smartphones and then it will appear for public to use, probably in 2015.
Change in Lock Screen and Notofications
The lock screen has been revamped with more alluring feature. MIUI 6 let users to show the pending notifications directly from lock screen. User can also go inside the app, simply pulling up the specific notification. The non-intrusive notification has also been added for incoming calls and messages to remove your irritation while you are doing some other work on device.
A new Skeuomorphism for Apps
A complete new look has been given to the apps in this new version along with some tweaks. Clock and Calculator apps have received a complete new look with clear presentation. Camera app has also redesigned with enhanced features and design. New camera app will let you to switch from front camera to rear camera by swiping on the screen. Adding flat apps, Xiaomi has tried to give it a look of iOS.
Enhanced Dialler App
MIUI 6 gets a new dialer app which can detect unknown number. Yes, it will work in the same manner as Truecaller works. So, find out an unknown number is not a big issue in the absence of Truecaller. You can also make some numbers as a service numbers like Courier, Sales, Telemarketing etc.
Other features
It’s not possible that MIUI has come with no themes. However, it may not consist huge number of themes but it may have little count of themes for sure. A global search box is also there to give it a feel of iOS 7. The search box can be added anywhere on home screen. It will also bless users with the option of searching any app, message, email and contacts direct from the search box, positioned on the home screen. Few more features include new Linux kernel and RAM optimization techniques, new power-saving features, redesigned Mail app and 10GB free Mi Cloud storage space.
