Xiaomi, the leading Chinese smartphone maker has launched the Redmi Y1 smartphone in India at Rs 8,999 for the 32GB variant, and Rs 10,999 for the 64GB variant. This latest Xiaomi smartphone will go on sale from November 8 on Amazon India and official Xiaomi website. The major highlight of this new smartphone is its 16-megapixel front camera that comes with its own soft lamp flash. The smartphone will be made available to buy in two color variants of gold and dark grey.
The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 also has a 13-megapixel rear camera with flash and has been powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 435 SoC, and comes in two variants – 32GB variant with 3GB RAM, and the 64GB variant with 4GB RAM. This latest Xiaomi mobile in India comes with dual-SIM connectivity option along with 4G VoLTE. It has a dedicated slot for storage expansion through a microSD card. The device has a 5.5-inch HD screen and fingerprint sensor at the back and has been powered by a 3,080mAh battery. Redmi Y1 smartphone is based on Android Nougat under the latest MIUI 9.

At the same launch occasion, Xiaomi has also launched the Redmi Y1 Lite that comes with a 5.5-inch HD screen, MIUI 9 software, and 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor. The handset is a dual Nano SIM supporting handset that has a dedicated microSD card slot and supports storage of up to 128GB. On the optics front, the device has been incorporated with a rear camera of 13-megapixel, with LED flash and PDAF, while the front camera has a 5-megapixel sensor. Redmi Y1 Lite has been backed by a 3080mAh battery and features an IR blaster as well.
