After being in the rumors from last few months, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is all set to launch the much anticipated Mi A2 which is scheduled for 24th July in Spain, as the information has been announced by the company on its official Twitter account.
The announcement comes just after one week when the company announced the global launch of Mi A2. Alongside Mi A2, there have been rumors that the Chinese tech giant would also launch Mi A2 Lite at the same event on 24th July.

Mi A2 Lite, a lighter version of Mi A2 was spotted on an e-commerce website, in China before the formal launch. The listings also reveals the key specifications, the possible design, and even the price of the upcoming smartphone.
Additionally, the Lite version of Mi A2 is available for purchase on AliExpress, e-commerce website in China. Both of the smartphones will come with stock Android as a part of Google’s Android One and will also have thin- bezels around the corners.
In the teaser image, the phone is floating and the number 2 visible in the background. A message has been posted by the company on Twitter reads, “Are you a big fan of #MiA1? You will love this...#Xiaomi #AndroidOne #2isbetterthan1.”
According to an image posted on Twitter, it demonstrates the back panel of the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite which suggests that the smartphone will come with vertically positioned-dual rear cameras and one smartphone is smaller than the other in terms of display size.
While Xiaomi itself has not announced the specifications of Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite, however, the reports have suggested too much information about both.
As per the listings of AliExpress, it seems that an alleged Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage.
In terms of photography, the lighter version of Mi A2 will come with dual rear cameras with the combination of 12MP primary and 5MP secondary sensors integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and also support 4K video recording.
It is likely to feature a 5.84-inch display along with commonly found an Apple iPhone X like a notch. The smartphone will have the capacity to support dual sim along with microSD card which helps to expand the memory further. The smartphone is likely to be powered by a 4,000mAh battery. It has been listed in black, blue and gold color variants.
According to AliExpress Listings, the Mi A2 Lite has been listed at $189.99 (roughly Rs 13,000) for 3 GB RAM variant, whereas 4GB RAM variant has been priced at $209.99 (roughly Rs 14,400). It is worth noting that these prices may vary from country to country as it is based on the AliExpress Listing.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 is likely to run on Android 8.1 Oreo Operating System. It boasts a larger 5.99-inch full-HD+ display with commonly found 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage.
It seems that it will feature dual cameras on the rear panel which consisting 12MP primary sensor and 20MP secondary sensor. Both of the sensors will have an aperture of f/1.75 and also have an LED flash. For the selfie snapper, it features a 20MP front-facing camera integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered features including an AI Portrait mode.
The connectivity options on the Mi A2 will include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will be powered by a 3010 mAh battery.
It must be noted that the information given above is based on the rumors whereas the actual information would be unveiled by Xiaomi on 24th July in Spain.
