Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite have been in the news from last few months, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer globally debuted Xiaomi Mi A2 smartphones at an event conducted in Madrid, Spain on 24th July 2018 at 11.30 AM CST. Both of the smartphones run on Google Android One Platform similar to its predecessor Mi A1.
Xiaomi Mi A2 will be available in the price bracket of €249 (roughly Rs 20,000) to €349 roughly Rs 28,000), the price totally depends on the RAM capacity and inbuilt storage. On another hand, Mi A2 Lite will be available at €179 (roughly Rs 14,000 ) for the 3GB RAM+32GB inbuilt storage variant, whereas the top- end 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage variant will be priced at €229 (roughly Rs 18,000).
Both, Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite will be available for purchase from 27th July in France, 10th August in Spain and from 8th August in Italy. Xiaomi has confirmed that the Mi A2 soon will be available for purchase in the Indian market as well, however, the company has announced that Mi A2 Lite will not be launched in the Indian market.
As a part of the Android One programme, Mi A2 smartphones will run on stock Android most probably with Android 8.1 Oreo. The company says that it will get regular security updates and OS software updates.

Xiaomi Mi A2 boasts a 5.99-inch full HD+ display along with commonly found 18:9 aspect ratio. In terms of hardware, the smartphone has outdated Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 SoC. The company has launched the Mi A2 in three variants include 4GB RAM + 32GB onboard storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB onboard storage and 6GB RAM +128GB onboard storage. In terms of lens, the Xiaomi Mi A2 packs dual 12MP+20MP sensors on the rear panel, both of the camera sensors have an aperture of f/1.75 and an LED flash. For selfies and video calling, it gets a 20MP front-facing camera. The smartphone is armed with a 3,010mAh battery.
Now moving to the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite has a notch on top of its display and features a 5.84-inch full-HD+ display. Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 coupled with 3GB /4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB onboard storage. In terms of photography, the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite comes with dual cameras consisting of 12 MP+ 5MP sensors on the rear panel. The Mi A2 Lite has a battery backup of 4,000mAh.
After the Global launch, the Chinese tech giant has confirmed that the Mi A2 will be coming on 8th August 2018 in India as the information has been posted by Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain on its official account on Twitter. Mi A2 is the successor of Mi A1 that was launched in India in September 2017 at a price tag of Rs 15,100.
Mi A2 features an Android One Programme similar to its predecessor and the company promise that it will receive regular software and security updates.
It must be noted that the Xiaomi has no plans to launch the Mi A2 Lite in India. The reports suggest that the company is focusing only on the high-end model for India.
